Congratulations to The Colbert Report writers on winning a Writers Guild of America award last night for Best Comedy/Variety Series! The TCR writers previously won this award in 2008; this year, they were up against Penn & Teller, Saturday Night Live, and The Daily Show. Well done, Team Colbert!
Congrats to Team Colbert, who were just awarded the The Award for Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment and Competition Television during the 2011 Producers Guild of America awards this evening. This makes the fourth year in a row that the ‘Colbert Report’ has received the honor. Congratulations Meredith, Rich, Tom, Allison, Jon and Stephen!
For the fourth year in a row, the ‘Colbert Report’ has been nominated for” The Award for Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment and Competition Television”. The ‘Colbert Report’ has won this award in 2008, 2009, and 2010, and looks posed to have a four-peat for this year’s awards. Congratulations, Team Colbert!
Congrats to the writing staff of the ‘Colbert Report’, who have been nominated for the 4th straight year for a Writer’s Guild of America award for Comedy/Variety (including talk) Series. First nominated in 2007, the ‘Colbert Report’ writers won the award that first year out, but lost in 2008 to ‘Saturday Night Live’ and lost in 2009 to ‘Saturday Night Live’/'Daily Show’ (dual winners in 2009).

It’s not often that we here at No Fact Zone are surprised by a grassroots movement involving the fans of Stephen Colbert. However, in the past 48 hours I’ve been inundated with people sharing the news, and asking questions, about what has come to represent a huge movement by the Colbert Nation – the “Restoring Truthiness” rally movement.
The American Society of Magazine Editors has just announced the finalists in the 2010 Best Cover Contest… and the six nominees in the “Funniest” category happen to include two featuring Stephen Colbert! And starting September 1, amazon.com will be hosting voting for the winners in each of the 12 categories.
The VH1 Do Something awards honor the best young world-changers, 25 and under, that are making the world a better place. The five nominees for this year’s award have done projects such as running theatrical companies for disabled children, training community health workers in Haiti, and funding school for poverty stricken girls in Kiberia.
In addition to celebrating these amazing young people, the awards have nominated celebrities in different categories. Stephen Colbert is nominated in the category of “Comedian” for his work in Iraq.
