Hey, y’all! I just saw a commercial previewing another Stephen Colbert appearance on TONIGHT’s late broadcast of the Olympics on NBC. And Stephen was wearing the uniform of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the teaser. It was, in a word, adorable.

A little item in the Stamford Advocate just now covered the close of Stephen’s trip, so we won’t get too many more of these charming tibits, unfortunately. But don’t despair, that same Stamford Advocate piece said “ … he’s not ruling out a trip to the 2012 Summer Games in London.” (Oh my!)

I can’t imagine that anyone’s forgotten about the abundance of options we’ll have for Colbert-watching tonight, but Comedy Central gives us some hints on when to watch the various channels (internal links omitted):

Stephen Colbert Is All Over The TV Landscape Tonight
Posted by: Gonzalo Cordova

During NBC’s Olympic coverage, Bob Costas will be interviewing Stephen Colbert. The interview will air sometimes between 9:30 and 11 pm / 8:30 and 10 c. Also, Colbert will be featured on the second episode of the PBS series Faces of America airing tonight at 8 pm / 7 c.

Full entry available here

I’m not sure how much our friends in Canada will see of the NBC coverage, but CTV News will be re-airing a brief interview with Stephen that they conducted earlier today; according to this, their interview will be rerun at 7 tonight. Happy TV watching, folks!

UPDATED TO ADD: As was obvious to all of you who watched NBC’s coverage tonight, Stephen’s segment did not air as scheduled. We’re not sure whether he was bumped to later tonight, to tomorrow, or some other channel, but we’ll let you know if we hear any news.

I’m disappointed not to have seen Stephen’s segment tonight but, in fairness, I’m not sure how much could have been trimmed from the broadcast to squeeze him in. I really wouldn’t have been happy if NBC had cut away from the athletes it showed tonight, either. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for some Stephen Colbert extras in the near future — are you listening, NBC?

FURTHER UPDATED: Stephen’s interview should be coming up shortly (before 12:30am), so night owls will be rewarded if you keep watching. Thanks for not leaving us hanging for too long, Bob Costas!

Hee hee! It’s better than chocolate and peanut butter, that pairing of Stephen Colbert and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Don’t forget to mark you calendars for The Pluto Files, boys and girls! (P.S. The book is pretty fabulous, too.)

Hey, all — set your TiVos for Thursday night’s Late Show (Thursday, the 19th), because Stephen Colbert will be hosted by David Letterman that night! Yay!

Here’s one of Stephen’s earlier Late Show interviews; he’s always such a hoot.

As we mentioned here earlier, we have a Stephen Colbert doubleheader tonight, first on The Colbert Report and then on The Late Show with David Letterman (and Letterman’s musical guest for the night, Grizzly Bear, is still making me smile). Don’t forget to set your TiVos, kids.

Here’s another one of Stephen’s previous interviews with Dave, just to whet your collective appetite:

I’d also like to take this minute to say how much I love it when these guys host each other. I’m really bummed that Conan isn’t in New York any longer; he and Stephen were always a funny pair. And I can’t tell you how much I wish Craig Ferguson filmed in New York — he and Stephen could have teamed up for a truly epic redux of Ferguson’s recent “Oops! I Did it Again” performance.

Oh well, I’m very glad Mr. Letterman is still in the Big Apple, and I’m sure we’ll have another entertaining interview to watch and rewatch after tonight.

Huzzah! One of my favorite bearers of good news, loudfan over at TWoP, has informed us that Stephen Colbert is going to be visiting the set of the Late Show with David Letterman on May 20th. Yay!

And to make things even funnier, the musical guest that night is (no lie) “Grizzly Bear“.

While we await that fun night, here’s one of Letterman’s earlier interviews with our friend Sir Dr. Stephen Colbert:

tivoThanks to our buddy Venus over at the ConanChristopherO’Brien fan site who tipped us off to an upcoming appearance by Stephen Colbert. According to TVGuide.com Stephen will be on the ‘Today Show’ on NBC, on Thursday, March 19th, at 7a EST. I imagine he’s going to be there to plug his new movie, ‘Monsters Vs. Aliens‘, in theaters March 27th.

Also on the Today Show schedule for that day: “Today’s Health” and DIY spring style. The health segment makes me think of “Cheating Death” and how it mocks these types of segments. Wonder if Stephen will bring along some Vaxadrin?
