I’d like to officially welcome our newest Completist, Katt. With Katt on the Completist staff, we now have staff on *three* continents (Most of us are in the US, Jennie is in Europe, and Katt is from Australia)! We are so international here. We asked her to be on staff because, quite frankly, she was sending us so many tips and leads that we figured she could just bring you the wonderful news herself. So give her a happy Zoner welcome!

RAAAAAAAAAIN!!
According to the Discovery Channel, here’s some of the countries and times of the broadcast of this special:
- January 31, 2009 – 7:30p
- February 1, 2009 – 1:30a
- February 1, 2009 – 7:30a
It may be showing in other countries, but I wasn’t able to find it if it was (Korea and other Asian country sites are, for obvious reasons, not in English, so I couldn’t read the schedule). I couldn’t find anything about it on the US Discovery Channel site.
And for those who want to simply relive the beauty of the Rain Dance-off, please enjoy this video!

Rain? RAAAAAAAAAIINNNNNN!!
Posted by: | CommentsHee! Rain was interviewed about his upcoming movie, Ninja Assassin, at the recent San Diego ComicCon (via Ain’t It Cool News), and he answered a few questions about The Colbert Report:
Rain’s interview with “Ain’t It Cool News” at Comic Con
Wednesday, July 30, 2008Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the short chat I had with South Korean pop sensation Rain about his starring role in James McTeigue’s V FOR VENDETTA follow-up NINJA ASSASSIN.
. . .
Quint: Strangely enough, it’s like I know you from COLBERT REPORT.
Rain: Oh yeah!
Quint: COLBERT is like where I first heard about you.
Rain: It’s very funny, you know one day he asked me to attend his show. I said “Of course, why not?” I went to his show and it was very funny. Did you see that?
Quint: The dance off?
Rain: It’s really funny, you know.
Quint: I loved it there. I hope that continues. I hope there is still the rivalry.
Rain: He’s my brother now.
Quint: I like that onscreen though there is still the rivalry. It’s very tongue in cheek, but I loved that. Your dance off with him was probably one of the funniest things I have seen on the show and his show is damn funny anyway…
Rain: Oh yeah!. . .
Awww, that’s really quite cute that Rain thinks of Stephen as his “brother” now. If you want to watch the highlight reel of the entire Stephen vs. Rain rivalry, you can do it here.
As for me, I’m going back to the segment that started it all, the segment in which Stephen first challenged this “Seoul-singer”: He’s Singin’ In Korean — To prove he’s more influential than Korean pop star Rain, Stephen made his own Korean pop video.

Hey, Rain! Not so influential now, are you?
Posted by: | CommentsHa ha! People magazine just made a **HEADDESK** of a gaffe. From Radar (internal links omitted):
People Magazine Thinks All Asians Look the Same
Apparently the editors of People have a bit of a problem differentiating between Asian males. On page 38 of this week’s issue, in which an interview with Korean Speed Racer actor Karl Yune is accompanied by text identifying him as Korean pop star Rain.
As a Korean-American, myself, I probably should be offended — should be, but am too busy laughing.

Video and Screencap Pictures of Rain and Stephen Colbert’s Dance-Off on ‘The Colbert Report’

The big showdown between our oh-so-culturally sensitive Stephen Colbert and his nemesis Rain is getting close enough to taste; so much so that I know I’ll be driven to distraction if it doesn’t air on Monday, as rumored. So really, what else could I do but fan those flames a bit higher by teasing you with some photos of Rain in a *very* familiar looking studio?
I’m hiding the photos/links behind the cut; click past the jump at your own peril, spoiler-free wannabes!

When will the forecast call for Rain?
Posted by: | Comments
The gauntlet has been thrown and the trash-talking begun, fans have blogged about it and TIME Magazine wrote about it, but when will the much-anticipated day arrive? I’m talking, of course, about the day that the footage from Rain’s visit to The Colbert Report is finally revealed.
While all we have to report remains in the “unsubstantiated rumor” category, it may be that we’ll finally get to see Rain on Monday’s Colbert Report. Again, these are rumors (and we all know that Stephen’s hard to predict) but, personally, I can’t think of a funnier thing to showcase on Monday … which, unless I’m missing something, will also be the show used to mark Stephen’s entry onto the UK scene!
Tips of the hat to Jennie and crh1s!
