So You Think You Can Type?
Posted by: | CommentsSo how fast can YOU type? Would you like to get faster? Would you like to play a game in the process? Then you have got to visit TypeRacer. This thing is addictive, let me tell you.
How does this tie in with Stephen Colbert exactly? I’m getting there, I promise! According to our friends over at Pop Candy, “I know a few of you are already addicted to TypeRacer… The cool thing about the site is that its typing tests incorporate passages from cool movies, songs and books, like Monty Python and the Holy Grail, A Clockwork Orange and Stephen Colbert’s I Am America (And So Can You!).” Yes, you could end up getting the opportunity to speed type the words of Stephen! I’ve played quite a few of these games and come up on Stephen’s book for the selection a few times.
So if you need something to do for the next 30 minutes until Steve Carell hosts Saturday Night Live tonight, and you want to race me, I’ll be here:

Get your sexy on, Go ahead be gone with it
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve found this new blog that I love, being both a pop culture junkie and a reporting analyst by trade, called GraphJam. This chart was featured today, and it made me think of one of my favorite Colbert Report videos.
And if you’ve ever wondered what Justin Timberlake is actually singing about, click below to see a YouTube vid that features the lyrics.

Eric Alterman’s gift to Stephen Colbert
Posted by: | CommentsHat tip to the team at the Huffington Post for getting this out; Eric Alterman, who was Stephen’s first guest on last night’s episode of The Colbert Report, presented Stephen with a gift that we didn’t get to see on the show: an alternate cover of Why We’re Liberals, complete with Stephen’s face in the place of honor.
From HuffPo:
The Gift Eric Alterman Couldn’t Give Colbert On Air
April 1, 2008 05:04 PMNation columnist and author Eric Alterman carefully planned his appearance earlier this week on the “Colbert Report,” armed with a weapon designed to smother Colbert’s
biting humor with love.Alterman planned to hand Colbert a poster-sized copy of the pseudo-cover and to declare to the audience and cameras that “nobody had done as much for liberalism since FDR as his nutty questions and commentary.”
. . .
Not bad, Mr. Alterman!
For those of you who’d like to see the original cover to compare it to, here’s the link to Why We’re Liberals again:

Stephen Colbert likes his caffeine inappropriately
Posted by: | CommentsAlso, if you’re into Starbucks and caffeine humor, you might want to check out 171 Starbucks, written and performed by ‘The Colbert Report’ audience coordinator and friend of the blog, Mark Malkoff.
Edit:
Also, Stephen Colbert has liked his Starbucks inappropriately for some time now.

Not helping our workday productivity: the DC Smackdown video game
Posted by: | CommentsYes, it’s just what you’ve been waiting for: a video game featuring politicians and pundits. There are seventeen characters to choose from, including Jon Stewart, Keith Olbermann, and Ann Coulter. The politicians include Al Gore, Bill Clinton, George Bush, and a selection of the 2008 presidential candidates.
You can download it from the DC Smackdown Demo website. I haven’t been able to try the demo yet, but it looks like you could waste an afternoon on it… just sayin’. While you’re there, take a look at each character’s profile image (reminiscent of the JibJab animations) – and check out the description of Jon’s ‘primary attack’.
PC Game Skewers Politicians Even-Handedly
The Associated Press, Travis ReedIf you’re tired of watching Mitt and Mike, Hilary and Rudy, and Colbert and Coulter limit their swipes to words, pick one and go for it in the new video game “DC Smackdown.”
Featuring signature moves like the “Intern Trample,” “Mormon Conversion” and “Barack Your World,” the 17-character game skewers bipartisanly. A pantsless Bill Clinton chases a herd of Monica Lewinskys, Jesse Jackson hurls Hasidic Jews and Anne Coulter has a special “verbal diarrhea” attack.
…
“Glen Beck started becoming more popular, so we switched him with Sean Hannity,” [creator Dave Holbrook] said. “We almost had Stephen Colbert in there, but we chose (Jon) Stewart. (Colbert) is in the game, though — he’s actually Jon Stewart’s attack. He throws Stephen Colbert.”

Flagaphile (a.k.a. Remind me, which is the fake candidate?)
Posted by: | CommentsI saw this picture the other day showing several of the presidential candidates standing in front of their backdrop of choice:
Can’t imagine why, but it immediately called to mind a photo of another presidential candidate:
It also made me think of another pic (below). It’s not directly related, but do I really need an excuse to post it again? I think not:

Listen to Stephen Colbert on ‘Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!’ online
Posted by: | CommentsThe webcast of today’s ‘Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!’ on NPR is now available here. As we mentioned earlier, Stephen is the special guest featured on the “Not My Job” segment of the program playing a game called, “You’d regret the error, if you ever made one.”
I’m not telling if he won or not…

Ambiguously Gay Duo flies again
Posted by: | CommentsIn case you missed it last night, apparently there was a sketch by our favorite animated super heroes, the Ambiguously Gay Duo (voiced by Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrell), in last night’s premiere episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’. NBC.com has not posted this new video on their website, so instead I bring to you something else I found in my Google search …. the Ambiguously Gay Duo halloween costume, from Costumes Galore!
Also, this might be one of the ways to dress up as your “favorite [Stephen]“ for the I Am America (And So Can You!) book parties!
