The Colbert Report got the spotlight during its shows in Philly, so it should come as no surprise that Jon Stewart gets the lion’s share of the attention now that The Daily Show is on the road for the conventions. Here’s a nice piece from THE USA Today:

DENVER — Forget Rock the Vote. Inside the Pepsi Center this week, the true rock stars are the correspondents of The Daily Show, besieged by politicos and press, posing for pictures and being filmed by fans as they film their fake news reports — or try to, anyway.

“If ever you’re going to get recognized and adulation, it’s going to be at the Democratic National Convention,” says Larry Wilmore, the “senior black correspondent” of Comedy Central’s satirical news team.

Well, this explains a lot. You may remember that we mentioned a few weeks back that there was a possibility that Stephen Colbert might be coming to Denver. Well, the Denver Post has come out and said that “James Warlick, curator of the American Presidential Experience, said he is trying to draw in 20 authors for book signings. They include Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Carter and Jon Stewart. ”

Um, “trying to draw in” is quite a bit different than “scheduled”, kids. *headdesk* So, it looks like for now, it’s still a no-go for Stephen to appear in Denver.

Democratic National Convention According to the Denver Post, during the Democratic National Convention, an exhibit called the The Presidential Experience will be featured. According to the Post, a cavalcade of authors will be featured signing their books at the exhibit, and one of those authors scheduled is Stephen Colbert.

Yes, kids, it looks like Stephen Colbert could very well be going to Denver! We’ll post more at No Fact Zone as soon as soon as we get any more information.
