We’ve got a ton of Zoners who will be in the audience for the Stephen Sondheim ‘Company’ revival featuring Stephen Colbert. And now the Browncoats and Duckyites will be super pleased to hear that Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks (or “Saffron” for your firefly fans), and Jon “Why Am In A Sitcom With Charlie Sheen Again?” Cryer will be starring with Stephen! I cannot WAIT to hear the reports from this show!
Knut, the cutest bear known to the Colbert Nation and featured as the #1 Threat on a Threatdown in May of 2007, passed away this weekend from unknown causes. Let’s all take a moment to remember how Knut almost melted the heart of Stephen Colbert.

This hysterical video features famed artisan pencil sharpener David Rees as Julian Assange. Also, while watching the video, don’t forget to play one of my favorite games – “Spot the ‘Colbert Report’ writers!”
According to the New York Post: “One source told us, ‘A single conversation has happened. It’s still extremely preliminary. He’ll be on every now and again, like Lewis Black. He’s not joining as a correspondent but a contributor.’ But other sources said King is talking to his close friends as if it’s a done deal.”

In 2007, Stephen famously gave up sweets for Lent, which was a massive deal considering that in that Lenten season was the debut of the Ben and Jerry’s Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream ice cream. Last year, in a Q&A before the show, someone asked Stephen what he gave up for Lent and he said he said “myself”. He said he’s not reading press about himself, the show, or the character, because it can get kind of poisonous to read about yourself all the time. But he needs to know about responses to the character for the show, so he has his writers fill him in.
