Archive for A Colbert Christmas

We’ll have more Grammy-related news to round up for you eventually, but here’s another little backstage video. Stephen Colbert talks to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush after winning the Grammy for A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! and clarifies that, yes, that is his daughter and not a scandalously young date. P!nk’s glutes get quite the shout-out, too.

I can’t embed this video, but please click here or on the image below to watch the clip.

Weekend Brunch – Christmas 2009 Edition

Posted by: DB | Comments (18)

Weekend BrunchWelcome to our (mostly) weekly discussion group to talk about Stephen, our lives, our friendships with each other, and pretty much anything you’d like to talk about with other readers of No Fact Zone, what we here affectionately call “the Zoners”.

Merry Christmas, Zoners! I’m at my mother’s house in Van Buren, Arkansas. After a harrowing drive that felt like the first 45 minutes of a very bad holiday disaster movie, we made it from Dallas to Van Buren with about an hour or so to spare before the winter snow storm hit. I’m from Texas – we don’t “do” snow there, and here I am, with inches of snow all around us. I’m 38, and never had a white Christmas before. I’m actually quite looking forward to it. Well, since I don’t have to drive and will clear up by our return trip on Sunday.

For those of you who have some free time tomorrow, you have lots of opportunities to watch “A Colbert Christmas – The Greatest Gift Of All”.

Friday, December 25th (All Times EST):

  • 12:00 AM
  • 8:30 AM
  • 3:00 PM

I know I’ll be catching at least 1 of these showings with the ma and hubby. Yes, I have the DVD, but it’s always fun to watch it “live” as well.

On behalf of all of the No Fact Zone team, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas, Merry Festivus (hope those airing of grievances are cleansing, and the head of the household gets pinned quickly), and if you celebrate any other holiday in the next few days, bully to you! Have a great long weekend, and we’ll catch you when we get back from our holiday vacations!

As our gift to you, here’s a lovely piece of holiday Eye Candy.

Stephen Colbert and Santa Claus

I’d like to officially welcome our newest Completist, Katt. With Katt on the Completist staff, we now have staff on *three* continents (Most of us are in the US, Jennie is in Europe, and Katt is from Australia)! We are so international here. We asked her to be on staff because, quite frankly, she was sending us so many tips and leads that we figured she could just bring you the wonderful news herself. So give her a happy Zoner welcome!

G’day Zoners and welcome to my first post here at No Fact Zone.

I got super duper excited when I saw @whosmurry Twitter that the ‘Colbert Christmas’ special was on Hulu! Huzzah! But I realized about five minutes into watching it that I prefer to watch the DVD, without the audio track. I think it’s because it’s the way I watched the show the first time I saw it, and it always felt right.

However, I know for a fact that a whole lot of that audience noise was made by Zoners who heard about the preview performances where they recorded the audio track right here on No Fact Zone.

So here’s my question to you: When you watch your “Colbert Christmas” DVD, do you watch it with our without the laugh track?

Oh, and did I mention? THE ‘COLBERT CHRISTMAS’ SPECIAL IS ON FRIGGIN’ HULU BABY!!! In its entirety! Thank you Baby Jesus!

Thanks to MsWooster for putting together a very lovely fanvid with images from the “Colbert Christmas” special. And thanks to the lovely ladies over at the Fangirl Lair for bringing this to my attention. There’s no such thing as too much Colbert Christmas.

Hey kids, you may have missed it in all the ridiculous coverage of the Tiger Woods saga (or in the — mostly — less ridiculous coverage of the upcoming escalation in Afghanistan), but nominations for the 2010 Grammys were announced last night. Happily, the Recording Academy saw fit to nominate A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! in the “Best Comedy Album” category. Here’s his competition:

Best Comedy Album
(For comedy recordings, spoken or musical)

Back From The Dead
Spinal Tap
[The Label Industry/Artist2Market Distribution]

A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift Of All!
Stephen Colbert
[Comedy Central Records]

Internet Leaks
“Weird Al” Yankovic
[Volcano]

My Weakness Is Strong
Patton Oswalt
[Degenerate/Warner Bros.]

Suckin’ It For The Holidays
Kathy Griffin
[Music With A Twist]

Tall, Dark & Chicano
George Lopez
[Comedy Central Records]

You can check out other nominations and Grammy news here at GRAMMY.com.

Given that the Recording Academy has broken Stephen’s heart before (below), let’s hope it sees fit to give him his Grammy this time around!
