One of the wonderful things about having an iPhone in my pocket is having instant access to much of the ouvre of Stephen Colbert at my fingertips. From the “I Am America” audiobook, to tons of pics and eye candy, to access to NoFactZone.net’s news, and even to my purchased iTunes copies of the ‘Colbert Report’, I’ve always got easy access to Colbert-centric entertainment. However, there’s one major drawback to the iPhone – it does not play Flash video, so the amazingly comprehensive video libraries on ColbertNation.com and TheDailyShow.com have been unavailable on the go.
But not any more. Meet the Skyfire 2.0 iPhone app.

I decided to put all of the pictures I took on October 30th in a nifty little YouTube video, which features some wonderful signs and characters I saw during the day. The end picture is all of the Zoners who had stuck around late Saturday. Thanks to BattyMatford for the audio track (Download MP3 of “Greatest, Strongest Country in the World” here). Enjoy!

About a year or so ago, when Dollhouse got canceled, someone sent me a link to the web comic Hijinks Ensue, and I quickly became a fan. Their illustrated take on all things nerdy got me quickly hooked. Only after reading the comic for months did I discover that the artist behind the comic, Joel Watson, was a very old friend whose wife actually took the pictures at my wedding! I was able to say hi to him in person last weekend at the Star Trek Fan Days in Plano (don’t judge me), and was thrilled to see that he featured the Colbert/Stewart rally in today’s comic.

Thanks to my sweet husband Dan, who sent me this link to this funny remix of Jon Stewart’s final statement at the Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Fear, done by the Auto Tune The News group. Nice trick, that, actually making Jon sing in tune. (I kid.) The video’s already gotten over a quarter million views, and looks to be a the makings of a huge viral hit.

MTV Networks has come up with an iPhone app for those attending the Rally to Restore Sanity And/Or Fear. It’s available now for your iPhone, iPad and iTouch, and it’s FREE! I spent some time with the rally app this evening on my iPhone 3GS, and break down the different aspects of the app – the pros, the cons, and why you need this on your phone.

For those of you who don’t follow me on Twitter (and by the way, you totally should), you missed a very interesting exchange of tweets between myself and Team Coco fangirl and all around groovy chick, Joanna Nuval (aka @janeway529). It started with the new video promoting the new ‘Conan’ show, which features Conan O’Brien [...]

Now I know that Stephen said to take the Insanity Bus instead of the HuffPo Sanity Bus, a free ride to the March/Rally event in Washington, D.C. on October 30th. However, for you lucky New Yorkers, this could be a road trip of a lifetime, and it’s a free way to get to DC.

Great news for those planning on attending the ‘March to Keep Fear Alive’ in Washington, D.C. on October 30th. (Or, if you’re one of “those” types, the Rally to Restore Sanity). Comedy Central has released a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the rally, including tips for travel, cost of the rally, volunteer opportunities, and more!
