I checked my program guide, and the Comedy Awards will air again tomorrow night at 3am Eastern (or in other words, 3am Tuesday morning) on Comedy Central. Which means there’s a good chance that it will be aired uncensored. So for those of you who enjoy hearing Stephen swear, you might want to set your DVRs (or VCRs, for those of you who happen to be me). :D

Dumb, dull and disappointing, aside from the moments with Jon and Stephen (and Tina Fey & K. Schaal, imho). Total sausage-fest, no women of color, etc. Not surprising, I suppose.

Yeah, I agree. Can someone explain to me why the whole Andy Samberg (sp?) “Sex” routine was supposed to be funny? Cause I didn’t get it. Actually, I want to go on record as saying that I’m glad I didn’t get it. Ick.

I’m sure they have their share of older fans (the majority of whom, I would guess, are either comedians or fans of newer SNL episodes), but Andy Samberg/The Lonely Island brand of comedy is typically aimed at a younger audience, so people around my age or younger. And it’s not really supposed to make sense. I do like some of their songs (“I’m On A Boat” is stupidly hilarious), but I didn’t like the song they performed at the awards.

As for the rest of the show, I didn’t think it was spectacular, but it wasn’t completely horrible. It kept my attention more than the Emmys, so that was nice lol. I will tell you one thing that I hated though, and that was the fans in the balcony. We get it, you love Tina Fey. It’s not the Teen Choice Awards, you don’t need to shout “I love you!” every 5 seconds.

Anyway. LOVED when Stephen kicked Jon and the TDS crew off the stage; I could watch that over and over again. Louis CK’s acceptance speech really made me laugh (but then again, he always makes me laugh), Tina Fey was funny, and John Oliver’s bit was great. The really nice thing though was the fact that they kept cutting to Jon and Stephen throughout the show, with most of those shots showing the both of them laughing. And those two are just so nice to look at. :)

I have to agree. There was very little about the show that was funny. I turned it off after Stephen hijacked Jon’s acceptance speech.

The best part of the show was watching Eddie Murphy’s tribute clips. Its scary to think how young he was when he started on SNL and how unbelievably brilliant. Frankly, I thought SC was a bit too much of a ham and other than Tina Fey, no one else was particularly funny. Man, what ever happened to Eddie Murphy and why can’t he be that funny again!

The best part of the show was the Eddie Murphy clips, particularly Gumby and Buckwheat. He was so brilliant and so young! Tina Fey was great but no one holds a candle to vintage Eddie!
