For those of you who don’t frequent the Colbert Nation site on a regular basis, they’ve posted a web exclusive bonus performance of Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Have I mentioned yet how much I really, really like Rare Bird Alert? It’s fantastic music. (Interesting side effect of repeated listenings: I keep hearing phantom banjo music in my head.) This video features the track “Northern Island.” Stephen’s introduction is hilarious!

LOVED IT!! but the whole time i was expecting some cee lo green lyrics bc of the warning at the beginning of the video- so i watched it with the volume real low. lol now i have to watch it again to hear its full glory!

I’m not sure why they had that warning at the beginning of the video. Maybe because of Stephen’s reference to “delicious, delicious Vicodin”? Which sounds like something Dr. Gregory House would say, but I digress…

That is the best picture! Does anyone know if these pictures print out well? Or how to print them? Because I want that picture with me wherever I go, in case I am in a traffic jam, or staring at the breakfast dishes in the sink at 10:00 p.m., or remembering what else I was supposed to do that day… or in case I just generally need to remember what immense happiness looks like!
