Link: Will Larry King be the new ‘Daily Show’ Senior Senior correspondent?

According to the New York Post: “One source told us, ‘A single conversation has happened. It’s still extremely preliminary. He’ll be on every now and again, like Lewis Black. He’s not joining as a correspondent but a contributor.’ But other sources said King is talking to his close friends as if it’s a done deal.”

  1. Hmmm. Are you sure this doesn’t belong in the link for “Very Scary Art?”
And has anyone verified that Mr. King can actually see these friends he’s talking to?…
Well, no matter, if it’s on TDS, I’m sure it will be great!

  2. Re Captcha again! “Politics, hernice” Can you believe that? It’s doing it again! Well, Re Captcha, thanks for saying I’m nice. But when it comes to Jon or Stephen and “Politics” combined together, “Politics him-not-necessarily-nice.” And a good thing, too!

  3. Mr. Arkadin says:

Noooooo! How can you replace Dash Worthington with Larry King!? I admit Dash is a little slow, (Okay. Really slow.) but a least he’s not a clueless idiot! I saw Larry King argue with Gore Vidal about if he had won the national book award or not. “I can go home & bring to you if you want, Larry.” He also argue with an actress from “ER” that SHE had MS & not just her character!
    C’mon Stewart! Keep Dash Worthington!

  4. Hm, I think this could be interesting. I mean, Larry showed up in Conan’s first show, as a TV guardian angel, and his timing alone made that funny. So I think he has some comic potential at TDS. Now that he can let loose and be funny on TV, I think he and the TDS writers could make some great material.

Besides, TDS is one of the few things that’s good at making even really old people seem funny. I doubt we could figure out what to expect from Larry’s first few pieces, but I think it’s a good guess that he’ll be aiming for entertainment and jokes, and nothing from his old, proven qualities from his show. A new direction completely.
