This can’t end well.

“She’s stared down big oil companies and won.”

She should know. She can see the pipelines from her house!

It’s at times like these that you have to admire Bill O’Reilly. Douchebag? Sure. Pinhead? Damn yes. But cowardly? No. He’s gone on Stewart and Colbert.

I completely agree. I was just thinking that the other day. Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are cowards. They will not go on either show, because they know they can’t go toe to toe with Jon and/or Stephen. At least O’Reilly has to have some sense of humor.
I remember she said the same thing about Letterman, ‘why would I want to go on to give him a ratings boost?’ That’s a really convenient excuse. She went on Conan’s Tonight Show. She didn’t sit down with him. She knew deep down it would be good for her image, same thing for SNL, but she can’t measure up to our boys’ or Letterman’s wit.

Don’t get on the wrong side of the Jonster! Especially when he’s millions of times more brilliant than she. (I’d also say he was funnier, but…okay, how about he’s INTENTIONALLY funnier?)

He’s really not in need of a ratings boost. Least of all from her. There are many people like me who would prefer that he not give a forum to reprehensible people who already have enough places to air their views.

I can’t wait for Jon to rip her apart.

“She’s stared down big oil companies and won.” If by win, she meant that she’s a blithering idiot, then yes.

This is gonna be so awesome.

Translation: “I don’t care that much about him, see me NOT care about him, LOOK AT ME HOW I’M BARELY MENTIONING HOW MUCH I DON’T CARE ABOUT HIM.”

Mrs. Palin, step the hell off my show please. Thank you.

  6. Kecia says:

This is my favorite part of the article:

“Palin’s reluctance is perfectly understandable to Richard Parker, lecturer in public policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School. “If I were Sarah Palin and remember what Katie Couric did to me, I can’t imagine what Jon Stewart would do to me,” he said.”

‘I’m not sure why she would even want to appear on his show to give him a ratings boost’

she knows there would be a ratings boost because he would crush her, right? not because we love her so much ^^

she should do come on the colbert report :D

You know what the really funny thing is? When Jon has people on the show with whom he strongly disagrees, he is incredibly gracious. If anything, Ms. Palin would probably find that she experiences a host with a genuine willingness to hear her side of things. Now, of course, he would leap at any opportunity to reveal the hypocrisy and/or idiocy that would inevitably come tumbling out of her mouth… however, he would never be vicious or mean because he is a genuinely kind person. Later on, we would all relish watching such an interview and applaud the great points that Jon would no doubt make… but I disagree that he would tear her apart in a face-to-face interview. In fact, even when disagreeing with her, he would probably be the nicest guy she’s ever met. He would be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Which is a good thing, because we all know how Ms. Palin feels about wolves.

  9. Gratefull says:

However, I do recall that he’s been rather vicious in his coverage of her, so I’m not sure why she would even want to appear on his show to give him a ratings boost.

Can you say, “projection,” I think you can …

    1) Jon doesn’t need SP to boost his ratings and 2) who put cross hairs on her website, vicious? … Jon? … I think not!

  10. SW says:

I was trying to think whether having SP on with “Stephen” would work. At first, I thought not. His character and her genuine personality are too much alike. Sarah Palin already is a parody of herself. How do you parody a parody? Although they could always talk about bears being a threat, I guess.
Then, it hit me! He could have her on with Mika Brzezinski.

    • Arkadina says:

SW, are you kidding?! ‘Stephen’ would gobble her up and spit her out, as he can get away with twisting things around more in character – I think we know how he feels about her and she’s far too much up her own **** to be an it-getter. It would have been one of the greatest takedowns in history. But I guess after the ‘retard’ rant and the Mika Brzezinski rant, there’s no chance.

When I first saw this headline as I was stumbling out of the door this morning, I thought it meant she was going to be on TDS. Now I’ve got to work and actually read it, I see it’s not the case….yet. DISAPPOINTED!

      • SW says:

Oh, I think I wasn’t being very articulate. I agree with you, Arkadina. Stephen would have a field day with SP, but “Stephen” would be agreeing with everything she says. I thought “Stephen’s” Mika/Sarah rant was the absolute best thing he’s ever done (I could still kiss my TV when I think of it). The thing is, when he has conservatives on (who dare to be on), they’re usually smart enough to get the joke and willing to play along (in the hopes of appearing “cool” to younger constituents and/or to plug their new book). I don’t think SP has that kind of nuance or sense of humor. I have yet to see her take herself lightly. She is absolutely blind to her own hipocracy and stupidity. My point was just that she is so good at making herself look like an idiot, what is there left to parody?
I’m sure, though, that if Stephen had the opportunity, he, more than anyone else, could figure out a way to make it work that would have us all rolling on the floor. I still think having Mika on would be great though, with or without SP.
I’m just inclined to think that like Jay Leno, SP is funniest when she doesn’t show up.
Sorry if I wasn’t being clear before… I’m with you all the way Arkadina!

“She’s stared down big oil companies and won.”

Errrrrrrr…she has? I must’ve missed that news story.

Yes, Jon’s “vicious” (which depending on who you are and who you support, is debatable). He’s a comedian. They make fun of things and people. It’s what they do. He still manages to come across mature and reasonable and calm in a discussion with someone he disagrees with. It’s one of the things I admire most about him.

Basically, that statement from her spokesperson is a perfect example of, “Me thinks thou protest too much.”

“However, I do recall that he’s been rather ‘vicious’ in his coverage of her…”

If she means “vicious” in the sense that Jon Stewart’s coverage of her = “hilarious”…then I agree.

  15. lockhart43 says:

I would really appreciate it if Sarah Palin –and for that matter, her aides and spokespeople– would refrain themselves from saying anything. Ever again. Take a vow of silence, take a proverbial fall off the face of the planet, whichever. The world would be a much happier, shinier place if she no longer had any opinions and did not speak.

Jon’s been “vicious” in his coverage of her? HA! Hahahaha!

If by “stared down” she means accommodate them in every way possible.

  17. Karenatasha says:

Still think Tina Fey takes the cake for a Palin takedown…merely by not changing a single word of Sarah’s interview in her SNL skit. What could be more telling?
