Did anyone else catch the Charlie Sheen reference in the intro to the show? Luckily for me the hubby sent me a link to one of the many, many Sheen mashups out there or I wouldn’t have caught it. I’m so out of the pop culture loop.
I don’t know why, but the thought of Stephen getting online and looking at bits about himself and the Anonymous controversy makes me smile. “Pwned? Don’t make me LOL. OMG, u r making me woot and squee, Tumblr please, #youvegogtmaildotorg!” The thought of Stephen taunting Anonymous both amuses and slightly scares me. I’m curious as to what Anonymous thinks of their hat tips. At any rate, Anonymous is a great and benevolent internet force please don’t blow up my site, thank you very much and Flying Spaghetti Monster bless.
“What are button flies except a dress shirt for your crotch.” Um, thanks for the mental image, Stephen. I do appreciate Stephen bringing to light the double standard of the Levi’s Boyfriend jeans for women verses the Levi’s Ex-Girlfriend jeans for men. Love me a good rant that invokes the name of Charlene:
So let me get this straight, Levi’s – when a girl wears men’s clothes, they’re boyfriend jeans, but when a man dresses up in his girlfriend’s clothes, suddenly she’s his ex-girlfriend. I’m sorry, but that is a double standard. And not the good kind that benefits men. I ask you, why can’t a guy put on his girlfriend’s peasant blouse when she’s out of the apartment and, I don’t know, maybe expect a compliment when Charlene comes home instead of dropping the groceries, bursting into tears, and calling her mother? What happened to being open minded, Ms. Art School? I mean, is it my fault God gave me calves that only pop when I’m wearing strappy sandals? Get this right, Levi’s, you’ve been a bee in my bonnet for far too long. And yes, I occasionally wear a bonnet. For EASTER!
I’m excited to see how well the Colbert portrait does at the auction. The better it does, the better it is for the kids. “It’s so important that we give these kids the education they need so that they don’t grow up and become artists.” I really like the color of the new portrait – the blue, yellow and green is so cheery, it almost makes you forget that Stephen has two duck feet and no left hand.
What did all of you think of tonight’s episode? My reaction – full of Winning! Leave it in the comments, kids!

Heeeeeeeee, I loved that rant :D. That put a big ol’ grin on my face. The image of Stephen in some of those clothes…so funny. Also cracked up at the first picture of the “Koch Brothers”, too.
Liked the picture unveiled, I think that’s my favorite one thus far of all the ones that have been shown. Not entirely sure what the duck feet have to do with it, but hey… And did I mention sometimes I really, really, REALLY wish I lived in New York?
And a fantastic interview as well, really good debate/discussion-like with Jeffrey Leonard recently, I wasn’t entirely sure if Stephen was in character or not throughout, he seemed pretty serious at times when responding to Scheuer. I think I kinda like it that way, though, it makes the interview even more interesting.
Good show. Nice way to start off the week.

I love how nobody knows how to react whenever he reveals a portrait :) there’s always to seconds of silence and some embarassed applause because the audience doesn’t know what to think :D
love that picture thought, duck feet are hilarious and hands are REALLY hard to draw ;) especially the left ones xD

Anyone else kind of hoping Stephen may have modeled the ex-girlfriend jeans? And wow it’s been a while since there was a Charlene reference!

I was!! I was half-expecting him at some point during the Levi segment to stand up and reveal that he was wearing jeans instead of his usual suit pants. That would have been HAWT.

“Pwned? Don’t make me LOL. OMG, u r making me woot and squee, Tumblr please, #youvegotmaildotorg!”
That line and the Charlene rant totally made the episode for me. Oh, and the line about button-fly jeans definitely had me laughing!
The sign-off was a highlight of the show for me, too. I always love seeing the look on Stephen’s face as he spins around, gets up from his chair and starts walking around his desk. He looks so relaxed and at ease as he slowly slips himself out of character at the end of the show.

Love the new portrait… it’s picture-perfect silliness, I think. Plus hands really are hard to draw…

absolutely. That’s why The Simpsons have only four fingers.
I kinda liked the new portrait, however, I think the audience favorite one and the one I like best was the darth smiley one.

Ex-girlfriend jeans really frighten me. They look rather…constricting.

Perhaps they read my post from last week wondering why the portrait hadn’t been changed? I wish!

This was a good episode! Loved the Anonymous reference, Stephen looked so cute and plaintive during the Charlene rant, hope his portrait auction goes well (not too keen on the new mantle portrait), and the interview was very engaging and intellectual (even if it was a little politic-heavy for my liking, still enjoyed it though). Good way to start off the week!
