I love this picture… and is it just me, or is that his reflection in the sword? If it is, well, that’s a very “Stephen” picture. It’s perfect.

Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s his reflection. It takes awhile to see. Look at the bottom of the reflection- that’s his hair, and the black blur is either the side of the haircut, or an eye.

Yes, love it! I’ve been looking for this picture without the watermark, and here it is. :)

Yay, that’s the sword Narsil (or Anduril). Stephen is a real Lord of the Rings geek. xD

I think I reblogged this picture like thousand of times…well my eyes got caught in the Roman Emperor outfit in the back…I’m a History student and I want to see Colbert dressed again like that…you know for the purpose of science …

Oooh. That is lovely.
I really like the shirt he’s wearing in the picture for some reason. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the soft-looking fabric?

I love his shirt, too. :) And truth be told, I’ve always secretly wanted the couch in his office. That looks like the most comfortable couch on the face of the planet to me for some reason.

Ah, yay for being in agreement :).
Ooh. Yeah. I noticed the couch, too, it does look pretty cozy. That room looks like it’d be a fun place to work in.

Stephen Colbert has a sword.
Your argument is invalid.
Totally.

Now this is manly! Don’t mess with the Colbert, peoples.
I don’t really get his casual style though, not to blaspheme or anything like that.

Wow, great pic. A perfect expression, contrasted by such a casual, cool office. Thanks for a great post! ^^

Love this pic! Stephen. With a sword. And it’s Anduril, the sword that was broken. What a great pose. Geez, wouldn’t it be great to see Stephen dressed like a LOTR character?
And I love his office, too. What great stuff they’ve collected there.
I don’t think that’s his reflection in the sword. Since we can see the shaft of the sword, that means it’s tilting away from Stephen. I think the reflection is the photographer. Plus whoever is in the relection is wearing something with some little red stripes. Stephen isn’t wearing any stripes. Just my $.02.
Anyway, yes, he does have a big sword. I believe it was a gift from Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen). And, it’s the sword that Queen Noor knighted Stephen with, which is why he’s Sir Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, DFA. :-)

Wow! I am truly impressed with your attention to detail! And I am now holding my fingers back from typing something silly and naughty about seeing the shaft of his sword tilting away from him…
Bad fingers! Bad!…
Can I at least suggest that maybe he’s happy to see us?
