Well, we said before that Arianna Huffington’s offer to provide buses to the rallies was an incredibly generous gesture. Now that we’re seeing the cost of this offer, it’s even more staggering.
The Wrap has the story, and it looks like Arianna’s offer was as much of a surprise to her HuffPo cohorts as it was to delighted New Yorkers.

Stephen Colbert held a conference call last Friday about his March to keep Fear Alive, speaking with journalists from numerous university papers about his hopes and fears for the march and rally. Especially about his fears … like his fear of Jon Stewart’s popularity.

On Thursday, we shared the news (courtesy of the New York Times) that there was possibility of a Porta Potty shortage due to the Marine Corps Marathon planner being a bit stingy with the facilities already on reserve for the National Mall on the weekend of October 30-31. After the New York Times article brought light to the issue, multiple news outlets released additional information on this Pottygate situation.
I know many of the Zoners have taken the time to sign up for a Gravatar account, which puts a cute picture next to your comments. Today Gravatar came out with a plugin called Hovercard, which allows you to put information about you, your social media profiles, and your website into your Gravatar profile and share that with other commenters on blogs where you participate.
Zoner Karenatasha was at the 92nd Street Y event with Jon Stewart on September 29, 2010. While the audio for the ‘Fresh Air’ interview did become available online, the edits left quite a bit of the interview out, specifically some very interesting points that Jon made about Stephen Colbert. Karenatasha’s report fills in some of those gaps, and gives a first person perspective of the event.
