ZONERS AND NEW COMMENTERS

Please remember, many of the Completists are at the rally today, and my iPhone is MIA. If you’re a new commenter, your comment will be held for moderation until one of the Completists can approve it. That also goes for anyone posting links. Please do not post duplicate comments as it will make our job that much more difficult when we have the time to spend to approve comments.

Thank you.

But do jump in the discussion and share the Rally Love, folks!! I’m not at the rally (*sob*), so I’m here to move comments out of moderation as needed.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +3

I may post later with a bit more of a coherent take on the ‘fest, but right now I want to thank Karenatasha for riding shotgun down with me from NY and throughout the Rally. And just wanna say it was great getting to actually meet real Zoners (words on the page coming to life!) afterwards. And, DB, always so awesome – in here, out there. You da bomb!

I’m still too overwhelmed by the whole thing to sort through it coherently. From hanging out with the crowd (beginning at 4am – Reese’s products for EVERYONE!) to the breadth of what we were offered from the stage (OMG, Stephen in an Evel Knevel jumpsuit! OMG, Yussuf/Ozzie/O’Jays! OMG, giant Stephen puppet! OMG, Jon’s closing!), I’m going to go watch it now almost just to prove to myself that it really happened.

P.S. Thanks, Wren, for holding down the Zone fort!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +4

And I thank YOU, Somuch2kno, for having me and sharing the rally experience! It was wonderful meeting you and the many other Zoners who were there. What a great group of people. Every one interesting, every one smart…and every one just the type of fan Stephen deserves.

Like everyone else who was there, I’m thoroughly exhausted, but very happy. I do, however, have to find clips online–or a TV repeat of the proceedings–beause of the very tall guys standing in front of me. (I’m not quite 5 feet.) There’s a whole lot I didn’t get to see, especially as the screens were placed so low. Hearing, however, was fine and the music was fabulous.

I felt so torn during the Cat/Yussuf and Ozzy duet: on one hand, it worked brilliantly as pure comedy. But musically, I have to admit I’d have loved to hear the full songs. Either way, those two figures on stage together was surreal.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +1
