Comments

  1. Yay for TCR & TDS! Boo on networks and advertisers who apparently only care to trumpet how well a given show plays with 18-34 year old men.

    Difference makers: Thumb up +5

    • Yeah, I love the way it says just ‘Adults’ and ‘Men’. Have they not realised there’s a whole Fangirl demographic in here, out there?

      Difference makers: Thumb up +8

  2. Basil Fomeen says:

Does anyone know how Stewart’s and Colbert’s ratings compare with O’Reilly’s and Hannity’s?

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +3

    • Hey, Basil! Welcome to the site!

I know Jon did a segment recently about his ratings and how they compared to the Fox News ratings, but I can’t seem to find the clip. Basically, what it boiled down to is that yes, their ratings are higher, but they are in prime time and Jon is in late night, plus the fact that their viewership is much older than the TDS/TCR block viewership. And I believe the main point he made was that even though their numbers are higher doesn’t make them any less wrong.

Any of my Zoners who watch TDS more than I do want to help out with a link? Do you remember that segment at all?

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +1

  3. Colbert really delivers that secure sense of falseness that used to be monopolized by Fox. All I can say is wow, which is upside down for mom.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

  4. Basil Fomeen – I can’t find nightly numbers for DS or CR but the average they give in the article would be slightly lower than OReilly and in the ballpark of Hannity.

Of course, typically 50% of the fox news group is 35 plus crabby old folks (I am a 35 plus not crabby old folk).

It always makes me laugh that Oreilly will spout on and on about how good his ratings are (as if more people watching make you right) but they are still well below many other cable shows including my 10 year old’s favorite iCarly which typically gets 4 million plus for new episodes.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +2

  5. O’Reilly gets about 3 million a night, Hannity gets about 2.5 million a night, and Beck gets about 2 million a night. so they have a ways to go to catch any of them. http://www.oreilly-sucks.com/politics/cablenewsratings.htm
