Amazing. I discovered these just this arvo, and literally minutes after i finished watching them i get an email from nofactzone about their existence!! Stephen’s very funny in them, lovely to see him so completely out of character and natural :D However, provided no further insight into his own political views..not that i really mind that.

ps. first comment whoo! Love stephen and the work you guys do

I haven’t seen this in ages! I remember Stephen deftly taking the wind out of Phil Hendrie’s sails once or twice, and the great chemistry between Stephen & Drew Carey. Fun fun fun :)

I’d been wanting to find this for a good long while, so when I finally found it, I just had to share it. :)
Stephen steals the entire discussion; he’s absolutely the funniest person there. And Greg Proops is hilarious as well. I ended up having to google Phil Hendrie’s biography while watching this, because I could not for the life of me figure him out – he’s just a blowhard throughout the whole panel discussion. Stephen’s reaction after Hendrie says, “Here’s why Kerry won’t win…” is priceless. “Campbell, write this down!” HA!

This seems to be a very tense discussion. It simply reminds me of how contentious 2004 was during the Bush years. Of course SC was illuminating as always.

I’ve seen this before, was a pretty decent discussion I thought—but if I remember correctly, a lot of cross chat which was annoying. The thing this did remind me of is that I hope for the Colbert new book coming out—I hope Colbert goes back on Charlie Rose. I absolutely loved that discussion (and Rose’s interview style). If he doesn’t do Rose, then Inside the Actor’s Studio would be so awesome!

Yaaay for the recaptcha being fixed. It wasn’t showing up for me before.

I agree with you about the cross-chat. I had to mute the discussion sometimes because there were some parts I just couldn’t listen to (not the parts with Stephen, of course, but I won’t lie that sometimes I just didn’t want to hear Phil Hendrie talk). But I did enjoy the discussion, and Stephen makes the greatest contribution to the humor aspect of the panel (Stephen, Greg and Drew are the only people who are actually funny), while still adding nice points that make you think.

And ohhh I hope Stephen finds time to go on Charlie Rose again! I love that interview he did in 2006.

I honestly couldn’t watch this after the 1st segment. That Hendrie is like fingernails on the chalkboard of my soul. Did he really think Kerry was pro pistol-whipping woman & children? What an a$$hole!
Loved hearing Proops lay into him though! I use to listen to Proops on local radio in the early 90′s. So great! I’d love to see Greg on TCR. He’d be fantastic. :)

I totally understand how you feel, but I would recommend attempting to grin and bear it through at least Parts 2, 3, and 4. If I remember correctly, Stephen offers up some nice insight in Parts 2 & 3 and has some great jokes toward the end, and Part 4 is the clip I mentioned above where he really puts Hendrie in his place, and it’s freaking hilarious (I think it’s around the 5:35 mark, or about halfway through the clip). You can do what I did after I got sick of hearing the cross chatter or got annoyed with the conversation, which was to just wait til the whole clip loaded and then just drag the cursor across and fast-forward til you hit the parts where Stephen talks, lol. :)

This was so fun to watch. Of course my favorite was when Stephen put Phil Henrie in his place but I also really loved when Drew was talking about buying guns before they were banned and Stephen said “I feel the same way about pornography!” hahahaha. Some really great moments and I thought it was nice that Stephen and Drew seem to really get along and be friends despite some differing political viewpoints. As Drew said, most people really are only a little to one side or the other of the middle and have a lot of common ground, it’s only the really fringe crazies on either side that make all the noise and make the country seem more opposing than it really is. I know Jon Stewart has made that point before as well. I wish Stephen would have chimed in a little bit at the end about the gay marriage issue, only because I’ve been dying to hear him speak of the subject out of character for once. It seems fairly obvious that he’s for it, but I’d be really interested in hearing what he has to say.
