Friend of the blog, and all around funny guy Mark Malkoff has found a most excellent home for all of his wacky adventures – My Damn Channel. Many of his previous video projects – from 171 Starbucks to his week in Ikea – can be found at the new channel. In addition, Mark has started a new project: “Five Days in a Bathroom”.
The premise of this video project is addressing Mark’s self-described “serious internet addiction”. To help him get over his co-dependence of Twitter, Facebook, iPhone, and machines that go Ping, Mark has decided to go on a 5 day online cleanse with no internet, in a location with zero distractions or temptations. And where did he pick to sequester himself from all things internet? His very, very tiny New York City apartment bathroom. And how small are we talking? The way he describes the size of the bathroom is that “prison cells at Alcatraz are bigger”. He will remain cloistered away from Monday August 23rd at 10am until Saturday August 28th at 10am. No email. No Twitter. No Facebook. No iphone. No laptop. No landline. No internet.
