Finally! A reminder of why I might want to watch the Emmys this year: Stephen Colbert’s just been added to the list of presenters.

Guess I’m gonna watch the Emmys this year.

Now if they could just please add Jon to that list then I would be a happy camper.

    *sigh of relief*
This is wonderful news! Now fingers crossed they continue making the right decision and give TCR an Emmy. :D

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +3

Yay!!! Stephen is going to be a presenter. I agree with your Lockhart43, I hope the Emmy voters make the right decision this year and finally give Stephen and TCR the Emmy they so deserve, especially for the Iraq episodes.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +1

Yay! Now for Jon. But at least we do also have Ricky Gervais. I’d love for a return of the great comedy that year when Steve Carrell was forced to return Gervais’s Emmy. And from the year before, when Carrell accepted it from the jumping with joy dynamic duo of late night political comedy.

Guess I’ve got a reason to watch now, though to tell the truth I would anyway, to see if he won…and just to see him there, in any case.

Thanks so much for getting the news out to us, MsI! And what a most excellent reason to bring back that lovely Klassic Kolbert Emmy pic.

I think it’s definitely going to be an interesting year in the Emmy awards as far as the categories that Stephen and his writers are nominated in. Here’s sending Team Colbert lots of positive vibes!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +4

  8. MaryLovesColbert says:

Glad to hear Stephen is presenting! I just wish that it said he and Jon were presenting together. :( But, still, it’ll be awesome to see Stephen there.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +3

    • Karenatasha says:

They still might present together. Today is the very first day any names were released, so there are many more presenters to come. I think only about 10 people have been publicized. So…we can keep hope alive!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +1

      • MaryLovesColbert says:

Thanks for pointing that out – I certainly hope that Jon is included in another list!

I host the annual Emmy Awards party and am so glad to see this! You are all of course invited to partake!

  10. Roseha says:

Thanks for the update MsI – I am very glad Stephen is presenting since he and Jon were overlooked as presenters last year (the shame). I hope we will have a Stephen / Jon presentation as well, they are just too funny to miss.

I am really, really hoping as well that the Emmy folks will recognize Stephen & Co. this time around.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +2

Ah, crap on a stick. Now I’ll actually have to watch the program, which is 97% boring, 210% longer than it needs to be, and will keep me up far too late before my first teaching day of the semester.

But oh, the 3% of red carpet interviews, presenting, and (fingers crossed) awards for the Report!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up +2

  12. chloepaige says:

I’d say the only reasons I actually watch the full production of the Emmys are for people like Stephen, Jon, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Conan, etc. So that’s like, what, 20% of the show?
Oh well. That 20% is WELLLL worth it.
Congrats, Stephen and everyone at the Report. Y’all deserve it.
