Way to go, Basil Marceaux.com! For those of you who may have missed the shining moments from this week about this amazing political figure from Tennesee, here’s some videos of Stephen’s take on the Tennessee race.
h/t to Karenatasha for the idea for the post
Well, bless him. At least he went for it, and gave us – and Stephen! – some entertainment along the way!

Way to go Basil Marceaux.com! I sincerely hope he runs again. He could become the Ralph Nader of the Tennessee Governor’s race. ;)

Thanks for the update and the mention! I guess I’m glad he didn’t do better, given the fact that he really, really wouldn’t have been good on the job! But I always suspected Stephen of a little sabotage of the Republican ticket, and that would have been really fun.
Despite this loss, I still believe in the Colbert bump! And for the pure amusement of it, I hope Basil Marceaux doesn’t disappear. What a loss to comedy that would be.

Pretty amazing that he managed to score that many votes!

It’s a shame that the Silly vote was split between Marceaux and Zach Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim bus stop F’tang F’tang Olé Biscuitbarrel Wamp, but well done Basil!

In my home county, Basil Marceaux walked away with a cool 3% of the vote.
I blame you, Stephen Colbert.
When are the creative geniuses behind The Colbert Report going to learn that the Colbert Bump is a powerful tool, and not to be used lightly? Please, gentlemen, I implore you, it’s time to wield the might of the Bump in a responsible manner. The future of our civilization may well depend upon it.

This is most unfortunate. Does this damage his chances for a 2012 presidential ticket?
