Hey Zoners, here’s a visual pick-me-up to help us get past our disappointment with the Emmys. The good people at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston have posted some behind-the-scenes photos from Stephen’s visit there in May for his astronaut training. Stephen Colbert’s part in the Emmy awards, while small, was mentioned all over the Emmy coverage that hit the web this morning. Many praised his efforts as one of the highlights of the evening, and others booed the Emmy voters for not giving him the Emmy that they felt he deserved. We can relate to that sentiment. So sit back, dig in, and absorb today’s Emmy zeitgeist.

One of the new features on the Emmys.com website is the backstage camera shots, collectively called Backstage Live. As the Emmys were broadcasting, the live web stream would show different angles from different areas backstage. Click through for a screenshot of the video (and links on how to watch it!).
While we are all heartbroken over Stephen Colbert’s loss at the Emmy awards tonight, we do have the solace that he did win an Emmy, you know, a week ago, and we now have another new set of pictures of Stephen in a lovely tuxedo. Nothing helps the sting of defeat go away like a good set of eye candy pics. Enjoy!
Greetings and salutations of the day, Zoners! A tough loss for Stephen tonight at the Emmy awards. My congratulations to Jon and all the folks at The Daily Show; they have done some terrific work this year. But I’m disappointed for Stephen and the TCR crew, as I’m sure we all are. Still, plenty of other news this week to cover, so let’s get to it! In case you missed anything, here’s All You Need to Know:
I know a lot of us were really thinking it would be Stephen’s year this time around, and I’ll confess to some (personal) soreness of the heart when I consider that The Colbert Report has been passed over again. But I’ll extend a sincere congratulations to Jon and his crew again, since they’ve succeeded brilliantly at the incredibly difficult task of maintaining the public’s attention and love. (And I very much include myself in that category.) Well done, gang.
In just about 20 minutes, coverage of red carpet arrivals at the Emmys will begin, and so will a marathon evening of TV watching, for some of us. I know I’m looking forward to seeing Stephen looking sharp in a tux, and I definitely hope to see him onstage accepting an award later in the evening!
