Here in the Colbert Nation, Flag Day is one of the holidays we love best, mostly because Stephen has given us so much in his oeuvre to celebrate. This holiday, we’d like to bring back the most patriotic song Stephen has ever sang outside of the Star Spangled Banner. Even his sweater reeks of patriotism. Enjoy!
And, just for good measure, here’s a fun rendition of “Strangers With Candy”, or at least a valiant attempt, by Stephen Colbert (as Chuck Noblet) and Paul Dinello (as Geoffrey Jellineck).
It’s just not Flag Day w/out some Colbert Eye Candy!
btw- how many versions of the Star Spangled Banner (sung solo or w/special guests!) are out there? I can think of a few but I am sure there are many more: w/Daily Show correspondents (at least twice, I think), Steve Carell, John Legend, Conan O’Brien, w/soldiers in Iraq…I know there are more but this list alone is impressive!

The Steve/Stephen Apple store one and the four-part Daily Show one are both in this earlier NFZ post:
