G’day Zoners, I hope you’re all surviving the break. Two weeks is far too long for our beloved Stephen to be away from us for. It is worth the wait though, Stephen at NASA will of course be amazing. I love how giddy he gets anytime any space related comes about. Having said that, I must say I am slightly thankfully for the break, I have been swamped down with a million Uni assignments. I can no longer feel the important anatomical structure that resides between my ears, I believe it was formally known as my brain.
If you need further proof that my brain is now a tiny pill of mush, you’d only have to turn the television on and realise that Eurovision is back for another year!! Hot European’s shakin’ their booties in fantabulously tight costumes, singing annoyingly catchy pop songs. What more could a girl ask for? If only Stephen were a little more Irish, he could compete for Ireland. He’d probably win to. God knows the man has talent. He can sing, he can dance, he can even sing in Korean and Ireland have won it the most times.
Sadly, the latest edition of Six Degrees News isn’t nearly quite as flashy as the Eurovision Song Contest. But it still is highly entertaining. Enjoy!!
And now it’s time to check in with our good friends at The Daily Show
Jon Stewart
- Jon has been nominated for a Moby Award for “Best Cameo in a Book Trailer” for Josh Lieb’s “I Am A Genius of Unspeakable Evil”
- “Jon Stewart’s Punching Bag, Fox News” from the New York Times discusses the relationship between The Daily Show and Fox News. The content covered in the article isn’t anything particular new to avid followers of the TDS/Fox face-off, but the article is definately worth a read. (h/t wren)
Steve Carell
- “Little Miss Sunshine” is in the process of being adapted into a stage Musical to premiere at the Ja Lolla Playhouse next February.
- Steve has been announced as a presenter at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Aziz Ansari. The ceremony will air live on Sunday, June 6 at 9pm.

Aasif Mandvi
- Was Aasif asked to refraim from commenting further after his segement on “The Daily Show” after treats were made to the creators of South Park?
Aasif Mandvi, a self-described “liberal Muslim” and the “senior Islamic correspondent” for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, said on air after the “South Park” threats that it would upset him to see the Prophet Muhammad depicted in a cartoon. But, he added: “Here’s what’s more upsetting. Someone, in the name of a faith that I believe in, threatening another person for doing it.”
But after the failed Times Square terror attack, “The Daily Show” asked Mandvi not to comment further on the matter, according to his spokesman. In fact, reps for the networks and television shows reached for comment on this article, including Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, FOX, NBC, and CBS, either failed to respond or asked to speak on background for fear of retribution.

Wow, that is quite the read! Jon’s cameo was hy-sterical! “Where’s the monkey?” … “Talk like on TV” …
Amy as the guest speaker at the American Library Association … the party animals!
Is Conan that tall or is the “Googler” that short? “… a dory, you don’t need to know what it is!” … LOL …

What a roundup – thanks Katt! The New York Times article was great, and I loved that clip with Josh Lieb and Jon. “I Am A Genius of Unspeakable Evil” is on my very long list of books to read this summer.
I enjoyed the Steve Carell interview as well; I finally saw Date Night last night and thought it was very funny. And thanks for the David Sedaris news! I loved “Naked”, so it’s really wonderful to see it get that kind of massive recognition. :]
