We hope that the ‘Colbert Report’ writers are getting lots of rest this week, and will come back relaxed and refreshed. However, many of them have side projects that have been keeping them quite busy lately, and we’d like to bring some of them to your attention.
Rob Dubbin
A group of publishers in San Francisco, CA got together and put together a magazine – in 48 hours. Holy cow! They received 677 submissions, including one from ‘Colbert Report’ writer Rob Dubbin. He is referred to, every so briefly, in an article about the project. Rob’s piece is featured in the magazine (available here) and can be read online: 20 Minutes with Lady Gaga.
Glenn Eichler
Rolling Stone interviewed Glenn Eichler ahead of the release of Daria: The Complete Animated Series on DVD on May 11..
While we learned about Glenn’s new animation project for TBS a few months ago, it looks like the show is starting to get even more publicity. TBS discussed the development of “Good and Evel” (executive producer/writer Glenn Eichler) at their upfronts this past week.
Max Werner
According to the Hollywood Reporter blog, “Paramount has picked up “Fun Size,” a comedy spec ["speculative" screenplay] from “The Colbert Report” writer Max Werner, for Josh Schwartz to produce with his Fake Empire shingle partner Stephanie Savage.” The comedy is reported to be a cross between “Superbad” and “Adventures in Babysitting”.
(h/t to Katt for the Glenn Eichler interview find!)
I highly recommend that story by Rob Dubbin – I just read it and it’s really funny. And I had no idea that Glenn Eichler co-created Daria – you have no idea how happy that makes me. :)
