I’d like all of you Zoners out there to give a big No Fact Zone welcome to our newest Completist, Gratefull! We are seriously excited to have her on the Completist team, and know she’s going to continue the proud NFZ tradition of being the best Stephen Colbert fan site on the net.
American audiences have really become enamored of Johnny Weir after his breathtaking performance at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Johnny Weir was teased by various late night types as being figure skating’s answer to Lady Gaga. Little did they know that Johnny knows Lady Gaga’s Mother and has attended concerts and surely, Lady Gaga is music’s answer to Johnny Weir.
We know that Weir is a fan of Stephen because Weir has tweeted about Stephen. Here Stephen (in episode #06026) teases Johnny that he is the most decorated of all Olympic champions – though in this picture, he is merely wearing business casual.
Due to the public play between these two during the Olympic games this year, we loved these pictures, originally featured on the NBC site with the meeting of Weir and Colbert, complete with Mountie hat/uniform. You can see the complete set at the US NBC Olympic page where they actually met in a dressing room in which Stephen was getting ready for a bit in full Mountie Regalia.

Huge apologies for being slightly off-topic, although this is still Olympics-related – I’m just checking out the end credits for the post-closing ceremonies celebration and among the Directors of This and Editors of That and Coordinators and Stylists is a listing that I’m sure is an Olympics first – “Moose Producers – Dick Ebersol, Mary Carillo, Stephen Colbert”. And to top it off, the listing appeared next to a picture of a Curling team, followed by a picture of Katherine Reuter. Even the Olympics closing credits are it-getters!!
And even the ReCaptcha is getting in on the Johnny Weir vibe – total getup.

Ya know what I love most about these photos? It’s the fact that you can see how much of a fan Johnny Weir is of Stephen’s, and you can see the sweetness and sincerity in Stephen’s eyes and body langugae as he takes some of his (I’m assuming) very little free time to meet him because he knows he’s a fan.
So basically, this post = MEGA HUGE WIN!

Totally agree with you. I especially love the last picture of the two of them hugging because you can see that Stephen is sincerely happy to see him and is giving a genuine hug. :]

I think Johnny Weir is fantastic, and so are those photos. The pic of Johnny with Stephen in the Mountie uniform and the one of the two of them hugging are just too adorable. :]
