I’m glad I’m not even trying to avoid spoilers this week, because it would be futile. Every time I check, there’s something new online, and it’s just hilarious. I’ve put some very spoiler-filled photos and video after the fold for those of you who, like me, are tickled pink by the idea of Stephen seeking his own little “Miracle on Ice” against the Russians.
We were first tipped off to Stephen’s appearance at Sochi World by some photos in The Province. This one’s my fave, but there are a few to look at here (h/t Jennie).

Better yet, I found a great account of the visit here at Shmitzy Says. Scroll to the bottom for his take and more photos. Best of all, he got some fantastic video of the great Russia-US rematch:
Can I just say that my expression upon meeting Stephen would be EXACTLY like that girl in the fourth picture in the first link? Haha!

This is so awesome – I can’t wait for this to air! He must be having SO much fun over there. And he looks fantastic in that Polo vest. :]

It’s impossible to avoid spoilers at this point. The man is everywhere!
And that video is hilarious! Nice to see more of the real Stephen shine through when he does fun and silly things like this.

Gosh he’s got all kinds of different outfits doesn’t he? It’s so funny, this whole Olympic thing, because we’ve got “Assistant Sports Psychologist” Stephen, Official Ombudsman Stephen, NBC Correspondent Stepehn…. and he gets all these nifty jackets and things for it too.

Heehee! You’re rights – lots of new outfits for lots of new positions! :P

Oh, awesome! I’ve given up on avoiding the spoilers – it’s just too much fun to look at all these! And I agree – if I met Stephen, I’d definitely look just like that girl in the fourth pic, especially if Stephen was looking at me that way!!

Stephen has generated such a buzz in Vancouver. I think NBC has to be seriously considering him for Jay Leno’s spot in 2012.

It’s a tight late-night comedians’ world. Might be too soon to speculate on who will replace Leno after whom was supposed to. ;)

Hmm, I hate to say it, but I hope not. I can’t picture him having the same freedom on NBC; networks just aren’t the same game as cable. And to do what he does best, Stephen needs to remain unfettered, unmuzzled, and uninhibited :)

I don’t think he would ever do that. He has said he doesn’t like LA, and I really don’t think he could ever improvise and play a character on NBC. Besides Stephen is an actor rather than a standup person and I don’t think he’d enjoy doing a nightly monolog. I think he’d be happier doing his own unique style.

Not only that, how could he trust NBC to keep their word?
DOWN MACHETES!!

Fun follows Stephen around! Or Stephen has fun wherever he goes! Either way it’s fun to watch. Love the casual jeans look, too!

ROTFLMAO. Stephen definitely knows how to make any situation a fun and funny one. There is no losing when you’re Stephen Colbert! XDDD

This doesn’t have anything to do with Sochi World so much, but I saw just a little while ago that Stephen’s going to be on NBC again, I *think* tonight at 11:05c. He was wearing a Mounty uniform!
