VIDEO: Stephen Colbert accepts his 2010 Grammy award for Best Comedy Album
ByHere’s some quick video of Stephen Colbert’s acceptance speech at the 2010 Grammy Awards. How adorable was the slap/jazz hands that Stephen did with his daughter Madeleine?
Let’s relive that one moment one more time before YouTube yanks this puppy down!

EDIT:
Here’s a copy of Stephen and Madeleine on the red carpet on the TV Guide Grammy preshow.

Thanks Roland! I never watch the pre-shows because I just can’t stomach the interviewers just to see if someone I like might get interviewed. Watching it now :]

I think it might be for the Red Cross? For Haiti? Not sure…

I think that’s a Red Cross for Haitian Relief – there were many other attendees wearing it as well. :]

That red carpet interview was so cute! I love how he said “Justin Bieber,” just as Justin Bieber walked up lol. Madeleine is so pretty! So tall too!

Now all he needs is an Oscar and a Tony! I know he can do it! He has such talent!
Kudos to NoFactZone for all the quick posts and links!

hehe The Tony mention makes me think back to Colbert on Larry David’s show Curb your enthusiasm.

If Stephen won an Oscar, he could finally top Al Gore! Wait, Al Gore also has a Nobel Peace Prize…that’s totally doable, right? ;)
And I second that kudos!

Are you saying Stephen should be aiming to be an EGOT?
…30 Rock fans? Anyone? Anyone?
Reply

I totally just googled that, and yes, I want Stephen to be an EGOT! He’s half-way there!
I’m with W&M_NU – if they just come out with a TCR: The Musical, then they can win that Tony.

That is exactly what I am saying! I want him to go to there! :)

That TV guide video of him on the red carpet is so cute and funny! He makes awards show red carpet interviews totally bearable. Except at the end when they kicked Stephen out to talk to Justin Bieber – maybe it’s just me, but I’d like to think Stephen is more important. :)

No it’s not just you. Stephen is more important then that Justin peron.

I’m ashamed that I even know who Justin Bieber is. It is a little adorable though that Stephen knows who he is. :P

Really? Who is he? Cause I honestly have no idea who he is.

Some 15 year-old kid who sings bubble-gum pop. That’s basically it.
Aren’t you so happy you know that now? lol
January 31st, 2010 at 11:54 pm
ehh, you learn something new everything. Today’s is just kinda lame.

Ah I didn’t know who he was either. I sorta thought he was the kid Stephen called the next Michael Dukakis in his Harvard speech.

I hated that snarky host when he said he doesn’t care what Stephen’s wearing.

Me too. I just loved how Stephen was so gracious at the end to shake both of their hands and tell him it was nice to see them – always a gentleman :].

You’re right – Stephen is always a gentleman, even when he’s being shoved away for Justin Bieber. :P

The only time I’ve heard Justin Bieber’s name was when there was a riot at a Long Island mall where he was supposed to appear. I’ve never heard his music and have no desire to.
Cute interview, but I think Madeline (sp?) was starting to get a little bored towards the end. Can’t say I blame her: red carpet pablum can get a little tedious, particularly when they push your dad aside to fawn over a 12 year old who no one’s going to remember in five years.

I haven’t heard his music either – I just know his voice makes him sound like he hasn’t hit puberty yet.
When I read the word “pablum” I immediately thought of Jon and Stephen presenting at the Emmys in 2006! “Award show banter isn’t pablum…kneel before your God, Babylon!” hahaha

“Pablum” was the only word I could think of to describe it. I think my mind went to the Emmys, too. :)

Colbert doesn’t keep the iPad (link is on my name):
iCOOLER THAN JAY-Z: Many questions remain about Apple’s iPad, but Stephen Colbert has some answers.
Like how to fit the 10-inch device into your pocket. His answer _ sew a special pocket into your tuxedo jacket.
Colbert held up an iPad during his opening monologue at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, making him one of the few in the world who’s actually laid fingers on it. He didn’t spill many specifics, but did say he’s a fan.
“It’s fantastic,” Colbert said. “I held it for about five minutes before I went onstage. It was cool to play with. It’s incredibly responsive.”
Colbert played the device to great comedic effect, joking onstage that it made him cooler than fellow Grammy winner Jay-Z.
So how did Colbert get his hands on an item that won’t be released for a couple months? He said he got permission from Apple to use it after the product’s release was announced last week.
“There was a guy backstage who literally said, ‘There are like three, not under lock-and-key, in the world. Here it is,’” Colbert recounted to reporters. He added that he gave it back after his opening monologue.

Madeleine looked fantastic. Dad looked great, too.

I loved the way he was fondling the Grammy when he was giving his acceptance speech. Like a little kid with a Christmas present!
