Klassic Kolbert – Nobody Rants It Better
ByThis week’s rant about Kurt Airport Security got me to thinking about some of my other favorite rants that I remember being done by Stephen Colbert on the ‘Colbert Report’. So here’s a collection of some of my favorites – some pretty recent, and some going way back in the vaults. Feel free to mention some of your own in the comments.
Was It Really That Bad? – Black Death (11/29/2005)
The Black Death didn’t just make more dead people, it also made less competition for those few live people. (4:54)
Canadian Baseball? (3/9/2006)
Stephen isn’t taking Canada’s victory over the United States in the World Baseball Classic lightly. (3:36)
Midterm Midtacular – Democrat Majority (11/7/2006)
The people have spoken, and apparently, they’re tired of freedom. (4:05)
Bears & Balls – Company Bailouts (2/24/2009)
Sbarro must cut costs by eliminating expensive ingredients, like cheese and tomatoes. (05:30)
Honorable Mention:
Bill O’Reilly “Inside Edition” parody (5/13/2008)
This one doesn’t quite count, because it was a satire of an actual event, and not an original composition. But it’s still Stephen screaming until he turns colors, and it makes me laugh until I cry.

Aww, you included the first ‘backpacking round Europe’ rant but I love the second one so much:

But just seeing the line ‘The people have spoken, and apparently, they’re tired of freedom’ again made me smile :-) Can’t wait for the 2010 Midtacular!

I love Stephen’s rants! And I hadn’t seen most of these. That first one is HI-larious!
I’ve always loved this one, it’s short but it never fails to make me laugh: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/90105/july-18-2007/intro—7-18-07

Oh, man. I absolutely love when he goes off on a rant like these! :P So fun – my personal fave is the one about Six Flags, teehee. But I also really liked the one when the Democrats won the majority, hadn’t seen that one before!
