Weekend Brunch – Christmas 2009 Edition

By DB on December 24th, 2009 ·

Weekend BrunchWelcome to our (mostly) weekly discussion group to talk about Stephen, our lives, our friendships with each other, and pretty much anything you’d like to talk about with other readers of No Fact Zone, what we here affectionately call “the Zoners”.

Merry Christmas, Zoners! I’m at my mother’s house in Van Buren, Arkansas. After a harrowing drive that felt like the first 45 minutes of a very bad holiday disaster movie, we made it from Dallas to Van Buren with about an hour or so to spare before the winter snow storm hit. I’m from Texas – we don’t “do” snow there, and here I am, with inches of snow all around us. I’m 38, and never had a white Christmas before. I’m actually quite looking forward to it. Well, since I don’t have to drive and will clear up by our return trip on Sunday.

For those of you who have some free time tomorrow, you have lots of opportunities to watch “A Colbert Christmas – The Greatest Gift Of All”.

Friday, December 25th (All Times EST):

  • 12:00 AM
  • 8:30 AM
  • 3:00 PM

I know I’ll be catching at least 1 of these showings with the ma and hubby. Yes, I have the DVD, but it’s always fun to watch it “live” as well.

On behalf of all of the No Fact Zone team, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas, Merry Festivus (hope those airing of grievances are cleansing, and the head of the household gets pinned quickly), and if you celebrate any other holiday in the next few days, bully to you! Have a great long weekend, and we’ll catch you when we get back from our holiday vacations!

As our gift to you, here’s a lovely piece of holiday Eye Candy.

Stephen Colbert and Santa Claus

Happy Christmas to all you Christians. It’s a weird Christmas, though. All you in the southern US are getting snow, and up here in the great white north I’m getting rain.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.

Hate do it here, but e-mailing hasn’t got me anywhere. I won one of your competitions back in September. It was the one for the IAVA stuff. E-mails were exchanged, shipping address was supplied, and so I waited. And waited. And waited. And e-mailed you to find out if you had been given a tracking number, or an estimated shipping time. More than once. And I waited. And I waited.

It’s now been over 3 months guys. Is there anything you can tell me?

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Zoners! We usually get snow up here in Michigan, but good ‘ol Mother Nature decided to give me rain. I hate snow, so it was like another Christmas present, ha.
I made my Christmas extra Colbert-tastic by singing “Jingle Man Christmas Boy,” listening to “Holland, 1945,” and watching A Colbert Christmas. OH – and a friend of mine got me the Colbert tote bag from Barnes And Noble! :P
Hope everyone had a great holiday! And that Christmas Eye Candy is adorable. :D

Crazy weather, I drove in sunny, blue skies from Pennsylvania to Michigan and then rain/ice for Christmas! Today it is snowing and I am sipping cocoa and giggling to myself as I look at one of two Sports Illustrated magazines that were wrapped under the tree from family members. I consider my family it-getters by association! :) I know everyone here gets it! ;)
