When I grow up, I want to be Allison Silverman
ByThanks to Katt, who found the video of Allison Silverman accepting her MUSE award last week. Allison is such a beautiful, amazing woman, and she is hysterical to boot. Her words about being human being a strength and not a liability ring so very true, and something we all need to hear now and again. So please enjoy the video.

“I guess the Bill of Rights was largely meant to be ironic.”
Loved that!

Wow. Hearing this from Allison means so much to me because I’m always afraid of appearing too emotional as I fear it will come off as a weakness. Thank you Allison and best of luck to you in your future endeavors.
Anyone have the original link? I’d love to post this. Thanks!

Damn funny!! And her comedic voice is eerily like Colbert’s.
I wish she wasn’t leaving the Report, because we’re really going to miss her ’snot’. ;P
All the best of good luck, Ms. Silverman!
Thanks for the video, Katt and DB.

What an excellent, funny, and humane–speech. I wish her the best of luck. Especially as Hitchens’ comments on women not being funny–quoted by Allision–were eerily echoed in a New York Times interview by the WOMAN who heads Comedy Central. Sigh. Some stereotypes never die.
