The Daily Show Toss Recap – Klassic

Before we go, let’s check in with our good friend Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report…

Greetings and Happy Holidays, Zoners! With a short week of shows this week, we weren’t lucky enough to get a Toss to send us off for the holidays, so I’ve pulled one out of the archives. Here’s one from December 14, 2006:

Daily/Colbert – War on Hanukkah: Stephen Colbert believes it’s time we acknowledge the war waged by Israelite chief Judah Maccabee against the armies of Antiochus.

I hope this classic Toss puts a smile on your pupik! Incidentally, I looked up “pupik” and apparently it means belly button, so I’m not sure how you would put a smile there. I’m not going to attempt to transcribe the Hanukkah greeting Stephen attempts here, but maybe one of our readers can share it. Happy last day of Hanukkah, everybody!

Heehee! Classic Toss! I love how amused Jon is by Stephen speaking Yiddish. :P

Yes, pupik is bellybutton, while “Punim” is face – kind of close…

I was catching up on some podcasts, and my the most recent one I discovered is Radio Lab.

This one had a conversation between Ira Glass, Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich discussing the differences/similarities of TV and Radio. I clipped everything from the beginning to just the Colbert part to the end (about 5mb and need to download to listen) and linked to the whole podcast (which is about 25mb) that you can stream (colbert talk starts around minute 19 I believe).

Here’s a link if you’re interested in hearing it:

However the full podcast is quite interesting as well, if you want to listen it can be found in full here:

Oh, how I love this Toss…love how Stephen says “It makes me so angry!” with a huge smile on his face. :)

Stephen attempting to speak Yiddish will never NOT be funny! :P

  5. Karenatasha says:

That is completely hysterical! They both can’t stop themselves from laughing. I love it.

  6. leora says:

“lich-tichen frailicha chanukah” is something along the lines of: “a hanukah full of light and joy”

  7. Chaobell says:

IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY :D

Still one of my favorite tosses ever.
