Fantasy Colbert League: December 14-December 17

This week is a short week for the show, but it looks like we have a slight musical theme. As of the time I am writing this, there is still no guest announced for Wednesday. So if it gets posted, I will try to fill it in, but for now here is what we got. On a personal note, I am taking finals this week, so it is going to be some long nights, but I will always stop at 11:00 for our boys!
Monday, December 14: Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg, who was born Cordazar Calvin Broadus, is a Grammy-nominated rapper, producer, and actor. He just released his tenth studio album, Malice N Wonderland, last week. His solo debut album, Doggystyle, is still one of his most popular. Snoop Dogg popularized the suffix “-izzle,” and had a sketch comedy show on MTV called Doggy Fizzle Televizzle. In September 2009, Snoop Dogg became the chairman of Priority Records, a label reintroduced by EMI. In this position, he will work with a catalog of rap records from artists like NWA, Eazy E, Master P, and Ice Cube. Aside from his music career, Snoop Dogg has appeared in many films including Training Day, Old School, Starsky & Hutch, and made a cameo in Bruno. As for endorsements, he has done some for St. Ides, Boost Mobile, Chrysler 300, and Orbit Gum.
You can also follow Snoop Dogg on Twitter.
Fract: Snoop Dogg has many famous relatives – one of the most famous is his cousin, R&B singer, Brandy.
Tuesday, December 15: Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys blasted onto the music scene in 2001 with her album Songs in A Minor. For it, she won five Grammys, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for “Fallin’”. The album sold over 12 million copies worldwide. She has followed up her initial success with As I Am, The Diary of Alicia Keys, and her new album The Element of Freedom. In addition to her career as a musician, Alicia has appeared in a number of movies including Smokin’ Aces, The Nanny Diaries, and The Secret Life of Bees. Alicia is the co-founder and Global Ambassador of Keep a Child Alive, which is a non-profit organization that works to provide medicine to families with HIV/AIDS in Africa. Her work for Africa led to the documentary, Alicia in Africa: Journey to the Motherland. She has also performed for Live 8 and post-Hurricane Katrina.
Alicia Keys is on Twitter as well.
Fract: Not only is Alicia Keys a talented musician, but she’s also very smart. At 16, she graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School as valedictorian, and later went to Columbia University, but dropped out to pursue her musicial career.
