We’re still waiting for the reports of what looked to be a very interesting (and hysterical!) show, but for now, here’s some pics that have come out that feature Stephen Colbert on the stage with Steve Carell and Dave Razowsky, as well as Stephen in a sketch with the lovely and adorable Paul Dinello. Enjoy!

I totally spazzed over each photo, as I scrolled down one by one haha.

Oh. My. Goodness. He looks so good in all of them. I love the last one, he looks so… thin? Is that the right word? I dunno. BUT OMG AT PAUL IN THAT ONE PICTURE. Heart! hahah
I literally gasped when I saw the one of Stephen and Dave… hahaha. It took me a while to take that in, but then I got images of “Down In the Basement” flashing through my head, and that somehow made functional again…
I think i just fangirled all over EVERYTHING within a 30 meter radius of my current position.

Hah, Stephen shooting hoops! I agree he looks great in that one. But also in all the others! And Paul looks very funny.
Is Amy at this event?
I really hope we are going to see video of this.

Dinello must have a painting in the attic or something. Guy never ages.

That’s what I think too. He looks tremendous. Actually Stephen looks really great too.

Every time someone says “tremendous” I can’t help but think of Jon. =) It’s almost like a nervous tic with him, he says it so much.

Really. Paul looks fantastic. Stephen looks amazing, too, but then he always does.
Actually I was surprised to see Paul. In all the press about this show leading up to it, I never saw his name mentioned unless it was in a caption for an old photo. I was convinced he wouldn’t be there.
I’m dying to know the story behind that fourth pic.

Ah wow, AMAZING. Please tell me there is video footage of this?? please!

warning: fangirly statement ahead: OKAY, so Stephen kisses a dude and it’s a guy I’ve never heard of instead of Paul or Steve?!?! Universe? You are cruel.
in other news, they look amazing, and I second the need for video.

I agree!

Haha!! I absolutely agree about the kiss. :P

Oh my gosh, snoopypez, I had the exact same thought going through my mind re: Universe and cruelty.
I third the need-for-video motion. Though, the fantastic report by wildymissingthemark helps to fill the void in my fangirl heart, somewhat. :)

Hi Girls,
Yes I did go to the performance. It was so amazing, I do hope SC posts some video of it. I am sure it was being taped. My report was too long, so I emailed it to DB to share it with you.

You were at the alumni show?! Awesome! I can’t wait to hear your report about it!! :D

I was trying to avoid flooding up the comments area, so I just did a report. I had never seen Stephen in person, and I was very close to the stage. It was just so great to see him in this place that clearly means so much him and all of the other actors who were a part of it.
Oh, and I got to meet Greg Hollimon, so that was also a highlight.
Shout Out (Hey!):

Awesome! That’s so great that you were so close to the stage. :) I’ve never seen him in person either before yesterday’s panel: you can’t really prepare yourself for it, can you?
Greg Hollimon?! Awesome!! :D

I can’t wait to hear what happened!
Paul was never announced as a scheduled guest, so what a surprise. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like Stephen, Paul, and Amy did a skit together (Amy was scheduled to come) – that would have been something.

I am giddy with expectation! Can’t wait for the write-up! Great pics, too. Love seeing Stephen and Steve together! I wonder if I can photoshop myself into that kiss?! :)

I had the weekend VIP pass so I got to hang out and catch the ambiance as much as possible. So many very well known comedic actors were just everywhere. Looking at the alumni present, you really get an idea of what a quality place Second City is. Jim Belushi was just walking around and talking to everyone. Jeff Garlin was just hanging out, and he was so nice and hilarious to my friend (she got her pic with him, and the first thing he told her was “I am young and handsome.”) I did get to say hello to Allison Silverman (I saw her come in with her husband.) She seemed like a really nice person.
I was so sort of sad because it was obvious that Stephen,Steve Carell, Paul Dinello, Amy, and some of the SCTV stars were not where all the general alumni were gathering. I mean, I can understand because they would have just been mobbed, people taking pictures and autographs and stuff, but they were so. close.
At the very end of Saturday night, I was walking out, and I saw Greg Hollimon. I was telling him what a big SWC fan I was, and he did a little Principal Blackman for me. He gave a big hug and a kiss, and that just made the evening for me. I was so happy after seeing this man, I felt like someone was saying, “Thanks for being here.”

It’s so great that you got to meet Greg!! He’s actually my favorite person from SWC, even though I love Stephen Paul and Amy. Principal Blackman is just too funny for life. HOT TEA!

I really love all of the characters, but Principal Blackman is the funniest (next to Jerri of course.)

I am giddy after reading that you met Greg Hollimon – he sounds absolutely wonderful! :) He did Principal Blackman for you? Do you remember what he said? “Besides, evolution is a farce!” LOL

He asked me what my favorite Blackman lines were. I told him I liked his long, rambling speeches. He did a little of the watermelon monologue in “Hit and Run.” (“2 tire tracks, we’ll pin it on somebody.”) Just hearing a second of it made me giggle.
Shout Out (Hey!):

Hahaha awesome! I laughed thinking about the watermelon monologue just now. My favorite Blackman line is that “evolution is a farce!” one I referenced above from the “Let Freedom Ring” episode. That and pretty much everything he says in the “Bogie Nights” episode, ha.
One of the reasons I really wanted to go this weekend, other than seeing Stephen, was the fact that I knew other fave comedians of mine would be there as well, like Paul and Amy, and Richard Kind. But I had no idea Greg Hollimon would be there – I can’t express to you how awesome I think it is that you met him :)

He was so unbelievably nice. I feel like I know these people, and I just hugged him with all the affection I could.
I also was right next to David Pasquesi, but he was talking to lots of people, and Tim Meadows, he was talking to lots of people, and I saw the bus driver guy from the cheerleading episode. I just was too shy to say hello to him, I thought he might think I was weird for literally having watched that episode like the other day. The lady who was the spanish-driver’s ed teacher from that same episode was in the Maya sketch. She was really cute.

I know how you feel. For playing such an egomaniac on SWC, he really seems like such a sweet and gentle guy. The fact that he gave you a big hug and a kiss is not surprising at all, but it is entirely adorable. :)
I believe the guy who played the bus driver in the cheerleading episode is Ken Campbell (I think he voices the Kellog’s Frosted Mini Wheat ads as well). That’s wonderful that he was there, too – I’ve always liked seeing him on other shows. It’s funny, because I totally watched the cheerleading episode (“The Blank Page”) earlier this afternoon! It’s actually my favorite SWC episode.

Wuhhhhhhhhhhh
Allow me to collect my jaw from the floor.
this is the first time I’ve visited the site in months (I tend not to come here when I haven’t watched episodes, which has been the case since November; sad, I know), and this is crraaaazy!!
I’ve got some serious catching up to do.

Getting a hug from Greg Hollimon would’ve been the bomb! Alison was a real treat at the panel.
Reeeeaaallly disappointed Stephen didn’t meet and greet but it was a thrill to see him with my own eyes. I dunno why, but I love the homoeroticism with Stephen. :-p I met Shelley Berman and didn’t even realize who he was when I first started chatting with him and his wife, what a “tremendous” talent and surprise that was. He stated he had never met Stephen but called him “one of the great comedic minds of our time”. WOW. I wanted to tell Stephen but never got to talk to him :-(
I was, also, sitting with a member of the Sills family that was chatting with a friend of Mina Kolb’s discussing whether or not Mina was getting ready to join them shortly for a drink!!
I walked out numb. What a great trip to Chicago!!!

Okay. I seriously have to get this weekend out of my head for a few hours. Staring at these pictures is making me increasingly wishful for a time machine and a $1000 so I could travel back in time and go to this show.

It’s funny, but every time Stephen has a kissing scene, it’s with a man! Paul in Down with the Basement, Paul in Strangers With Candy, Tom Hanks during the Iraq show and now this guy! I guess his wife feels less jealous this way:)
OK, there was that one lucky girl in that journalism school segment on The Daily Show.
Shout Out (Hey!):

… Or maybe that’s just his wife’s thing? Personally, my man has carte blanche to kiss all the dudes he wants, as long as it’s in front of me! Haha. (Unfortunately, he’s not interested in kissing men. *sigh*)
P.S. I don’t think Stephen ever actually kissed Paul in SWC. Unless there’s some secret SWC footage I don’t know of?!? In which case I beseech you to help a poor fangirl out and share. :)

The scene that I recall is from “A Burden’s Burden” when Noblet and Jellineck first meet in the school bathroom and start macking on each other before Noblet busts out the light. It’s one of those, “you can’t see it very well, but you know it’s happening” moments, haha. If you haven’t seen the episode, I highly recommend it :D

“A Burden’s Burden” is one of my favorite episodes! :) I actually re-watched that scene after reading your comment, just in case there was something I’d missed… but, alas, there was no macking to be found either pre- or -post-light busting.
I guess the Chuck-Geoffrey kissing shall have to remain forever in my mind (and in the fangirl-rific fanfics I may or may not have written about these characters…)
