Six Degrees - Stephen ColbertHello, boys and girls. I know Tiger usually does these now, but there’s been so much news coming in on our favorite people from The Daily Show that I thought I’d throw a few links together while we await her next post.

Let’s get things started with a few items featuring Jon Stewart‘s recent trip to the Kennedy Center Honors, where he helped to pay tribute to honoree Bruce Sprinsteen. First off, check out this photo of Jon and his wife, Tracey, on the red carpet. How fabulous does she look? I love that Jon looks like he can hardly believe he’s there with that gorgeous woman. The Washington Post did a general write-up of the event here; NorthJersey.com went into more detail about Jon’s tribute to Bruce here. I love Jon’s quote that “When you listen to Bruce Springsteen, you weren’t a loser, you were a character in an epic poem about losers.” Nicely put, Mr. Stewart. CBS will air footage from the event on December 29th.

If you’re in the mood for more from John Hodgman, Larry Wilmore, Samantha Bee, DJ Javerbaum and John Oliver, then click past the jump!

If you’ve ever been lucky enough to see John Hodgman at a book event or other interview, you know he’s every bit as hilariously dry as he appears in his Daily Show contributor guise. And, amazingly, he might even be a bit more charming. So, please enjoy this extended interview with John from Diggnation (via our friends at CC Insider). That is all.

Senior Black Correspondent Larry Wilmore released his book I’d Rather We Got Casinos early this year, but I only recently stumbled onto this video from one of his book events on FORA.tv. There’s a mention of Stephen at about the 22:25 mark, in response to a question I couldn’t quite hear. Larry notes that most people breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide, but Stephen “breathes in oxygen and breathes out funny.” He also calls Stephen a “really nice guy”, which will surprise no one here. Even if you don’t have time to watch the whole interview, I’d definitely recommend that you keep listening past that point, as Larry’s reading of “In Search of Black Jesus” (his clues as to whether Jesus really was a “brother”) is hilarious. (I also love his story about filming “The N Word” with John Oliver, which we know John really enjoyed, too.)

We noted some time ago that Correspondent Samantha Bee and Producer DJ Javerbaum would be appearing on a panel with Jason Alexander called It’s Satire! The appearance is now some weeks past, but you can catch a snippet of it here. Sam’s memories of Children’s Theatre are … illuminating. Hee!

Last, but certainly not least, our friend John Oliver was a featured performer at GW University’s Economist event last weekend. The theme of the event was “The World in 2010″, and John brought his signature blend of wit and humor to the mix. You can read the Washington Examiner‘s coverage of it here and the GW Hatchet‘s write up here. HuffPo snagged some bootleg footage (from Politico) here, but the best quality video I’ve seen is this clip from Bisnow Media (some language NSFW). Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!
