On a general and relatively superficial note, I'm thankful for having had a lovely and relaxing holiday; there was time to talk to some people I had wanted to catch up with, time to address my usual sleep deficit, time to read a LOT of wonderful books. On a slightly broader and I hope not too sentimental note, I'm very grateful that I live in a country that, for all its myriad faults, is still one in which ideas and thoughts can be expressed openly. While it is incredibly disturbing that this openness is often used by people voicing hatred and intolerance, the recent events involving the imprisonment of people like Maziar Bahari -- whose situation was perhaps exacerbated by his appearance on The Daily Show -- remind me that there are far too many places in the world where a voice like Stephen's could not safely be broadcast. (And, by the way, I'm really looking forward to seeing Bahari on tonight's Daily Show, and I'm overjoyed about his being back with his family now!)

You sang “The King of Glory” in church this morning? Hahaha! You are definitely a better person than I am – I would not have been able to contain my laughter. No, ma’am. Then I would have thought of Stephen doing the dance, which would have made me laugh even more! :P

I am thankful that I didn’t start laughing out loud at church this morning when we sang “The King of Glory”! It was close.

Seriously though, I am thankful for the wonderful world of Stephen Colbert, and all that brings with it – laughter, joy, and the lovely NFZ community. I am very happy to be a part of it.

This year, I’m thankful that my back is in much better shape, my brandy-new job (and a nice paycheck), the fact that my Mother-in-Law (despite her lousy attitude) is still with us, my wonderful husband, friends and family, and all of you guys who are the only people in the known universe who “get” my love for “Stephen” and Stephen. : )

I’m grateful for my family, my friends, my job, and many other things. I’m especially grateful to have such an awesome place to hang out with fellow TCR fans, and I’m even more grateful that DB actually trusts me enough to let me post here. ;-)

The Bloggess is massive. She makes me laugh so freakin’ hard. (I can’t believe she didn’t go back for James Garfield…)
