The Muppet Show was one of my favorite shows. Time to see if my library has any of the DVDs of that, or of Season 1 of Sesame Street. I really want to see the extras.

“Six-degrees” question: Does anyone know when the actual interview with Elmo and Ricky Gervais will air (don’t tell me I missed it!)? Actually, what I’d really enjoy would be outtakes of the outtakes that aired on YouTube last spring.

Funny, I just saw an old Martha Stewart episode where Elmo was the guest. Adorable kids with Stephen and the giant cookies and Jon is just so charming around the Muppets :)

Oh man, I do love that C is for Chubby sketch. Funny, plus the bonus that Stephen interacting with little kids is just freaking adorable (makes me think of the Astrophysicist Fallback Position). Wonder who’s kids they were?

On the Sesame side of things, I get the double benefit of having loved the show as a child (The Muppet Show, too!), and appreciating it as a specialist in child development. Happy birthday Sesame Street!

Hee hee! I had a Muppet Show album when I was younger (that’s right, an ALBUM!) that had that track on it. It was one of my faves. The whole album was made of awesome (“The Great Gonzo Eats a Rubber Tire to ‘The Flight of the Bumblebee’” was one of the tracks, for instance), but Statler and Waldorf were always a highlight.

I loved these and I’m crossing my fingers for a Sesame Street shout-out tonight! Out of the muppets, my favourite was always the Swedish Chef *Mumble something not swedish* then….”bork bork bork!”
