By LadyNocturne on October 11th, 2009 ·

Good evening Zoners! Well, once again it’s time for the weekly roundup of Colbert news. For any new LA Timers, this is THE post to get caught up on all things Colbert you might have missed this past week. So, let’s get down to business.

Episode Guides:

No Fact Zone features:

Mainstream Media:

  • The LA Times featured an article about The Colbert Report and fan participation (AKA The Colbert Nation), and our very own webmistress is quoted in it! GO DB!
  • Quotes are coming out fast and furious for the new book The Second City Unscripted featuring not only Stephen, but many of the other famous comedians of this decade.
  • It looks like there are still tickets available for the Stand Up for Heroes show featuring Stephen and Bruce Springsteen. If you can afford it and are in the area, you should definitely buy tickets while they’re available!

Stephen Colbert in the Zeitgeist:

  • ED.gov has posted some pictures of Arne Duncan’s visit to the Colbert Report that make it clear how difficult is it to play basketball with a tie on.
  • Second City has posted some old videos featuring Stephen, Steve Carell, Amy Sedaris, and the rest of the gang on its website. While the quality is somewhat poor, it’s definitely worth the view.
  • The Mountain Goats’ appearance on the Report is covered by the Village Voice, as well as some extras we didn’t see.
  • The COLBERT is up and running!

Klassic Kolbert:

Six Degrees of Stephen Colbert:

  • Six Degrees – Jon Stewart, Lewis Black, John Oliver and others.
  • Jon Stewart is doing stand-up at Norfolk, and they’re ready for him.
  • Colbert Report writer Glenn Eichler has a new graphic novel out called Stuffed! Get the scoop on this bizarre new book here!
  • Mark Malkoff has a new project in the works which will necessitate him getting a very big keychain…

We call it the Joy Machine:

  • Please go see this painting of Stephen done by artist Stan Murmur. Or more precisely, done by his butt. Yes. I’m serious.
