Mark Malkoff’s new project announced – and he’s got a really big keychain ready

Great news, Zoners! Those of you who continue to follow the exploits of friend of the blog Mark Malkoff are aware that he has a new project starting tomorrow. Well, we’ve gotten a sneak peak, and it looks like another fantastic adventure.

Yes, folks, he’s headed on a quest to get 100 keys to cities all over the country, in his lovely Ford Fusion hybrid. The first leg of the tour, which will be posted soon on MarkMalkoff.com, will include Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia.

For his first day of the tour tomorrow, Mark will be in Central Pennsylvania, meeting with eight mayors – including Harrisburg Mayor Stephen Reed, Lancaster Mayor Richard Gray, York Mayor John Brenner, and several others. In exchange for the key to the city each mayor will assign Malkoff a task to help out their individual town. So that should be fun!

You can follow Mark on Twitter, or friend him on Facebook, which I would highly recommend to get the experience which can only be described as the Full Malkoff. He would also love assistance if anyone happens to know any mayors out there who might be willing to give a key for a little public service.

    This looks like fun.
I hope Mark has luck getting a couple of keys.
If he comes to Houston he might have a chance because the mayor is a pretty cool guy.

    Herbert Gear of Irving, TX.

He claims to be a democrat. He attends various democratic clubs occasionally but he’s backing the Republican for re-election to state rep and he made an appearance in the NY Times on his stance on illegal immigrants.

I think Mark has invented a new form of “endurance” comedy. Go Mark.

I think this sounds great. It combines two of my loves – volunteerism and comedy. I wonder what the mayors will make him do! I hope they’re creative (but not too demanding).
