Glamour begs Stephen Colbert: “Please take us back”

Poor Stephen! On last night’s Colbert Report, we saw that Glamour‘s “Do, Dump or Marry?” results sent him into an AmeriCone Dream binge of self-loathing.

But all is not lost, heroes. Glamour has come crawling back, seeking forgiveness via their “Smitten” blog:

How Glamour Broke Stephen Colbert’s Heart

Remember a few months back when we asked you to this celebrity do, dump or marry question? Well, your answers made it into our October issue of the magazine (pg. 305, if you’re interested). They also made it onto last night’s Colbert Report. Check out [the] clip and prepare to die laughing.

. . .

Hilarious, right?

And Stephen, we’re sorry you thought we were cheating on you. We love you! Please take us back.

So you see, all is well. They’ve apologized and pointed readers toward other Colbert-related moments in Glamour history, even solicited “love notes” from their readers. It’s just a big lovefest today!

(And no kidding, Sir Dr. Stephen, I don’t think I’m going to stand for anyone calling you fat. Not even you!)

EDITED TO ADD: I just realized that the Glamour link referencing Stephen’s speech at the 2007 Woman of the Year Awards doesn’t actually take you to his full presentation. If you want to have a look at that fun little introduction (to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, no less!), we blogged it here back in the day.

Lol!! So sweet of them to ask for forgiveness! :P There’s no way I’d go for Jimmy Fallon over Stephen. And if I were married to Stephen, there would be nothing that could turn my head!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

  2. I actually prefer to dump Jimmy Fallon. I heart the very adorkable Conan and Stephen (and Jon, of course) a whole lot more. :)

I like Glamour as a magazine. I don’t have a subscription but their writing is awesome and brilliant, and they’re one of the very few that are brave enough to tackle women’s issues around the globe. So sweet of them to ask Stephen to take them back. :)

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

Aww.. they asked for forgiveness! That’s so sweet.
Also, why would anyone want to do Fallon?
I would prefer to be married to Stephen, bonus being that the first option is in that option.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

  4. Gabby says:

They need to apologize to Conan. Who would pick Jimmy over Conan? Seriously?

I love the faking crying, he does it so well!

Love that the staff at Glamour are “it-getters!”

I loved that whole segment last night! I’ve been waiting to see Stephen and Conan get into a long distance communication and while Conan’s injury was awful, I’m sure he got a kick out of Stephen making the wrist comparison and then the Glamour “broken heart” claim.
Who would prefer Jimmy Fallon to Stephen – or Conan? I agree.

Stephen’s crying over the ice cream was great, especially when he perked up immediately going into the next segment.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0
