Awwww … we’re not likely to stop missing Allison any time soon, so here’s a nice write up from her hometown paper to enjoy as we reminisce:
Gainesville native praised upon leaving ‘The Colbert Report’

Last Modified: Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:29 a.m.Gainesville native Allison Silverman received a very Stephen Colbert-ish and appreciative sendoff from the host of “The Colbert Report” on Thursday – Silverman’s last day on the show as executive producer – with Colbert praising her work for the past four years.
“I’m both very said and very furious that she’s leaving, and, frankly, I don’t want to have a meltdown on camera,” Colbert said in the “Word” segment that ended Thursday’s show on Comedy Central. “So to feel better about it, I am choosing to have ‘false memories’ that will make me glad she’s leaving.”
After “remembering” such false memories as Allison using the phrase “Whazzup!” Colbert explained the segment’s conceit: “Because the only other option is that she’s a great writer, a brilliant producer and a dear friend, and I don’t know the word for that.”
. . .
Let’s watch that sweet send-off once more, shall we?

I added screencaps of the adorable credit sequence from last night to this post, if you’d like to see just what we have to thank the multi-talented Allison for; her contributions to the show have truly been above and beyond.
You know at least “Stephen” let her leave alive. The last person who left got eaten and was apparently delicious.

Ms.I,
Can you do post with videos of all the scenes in which she appeared on the show? I don’t recall that one with the baby and I’m surprise, not shocked, that she was the giant cup. Pretty please if its not too much trouble. I’m sure there are others out there too and I know you completists know it all.

Not a bad idea; I’ll see if I have time later (if someone doesn’t get to it before me) — running off to a baby shower at the moment. :)

I saw the one with the baby not too long ago for the first time, it was from This Week in God. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-april-1-2004/this-week-in-god—cast-ye-from-the-garden

Aww, so sweet. =)
Does anyone know where the video is of Stephen and Allison doing the Hora (chair dance)? I have got to find me that video…

After reading the article, it seems so obvious that a girl who attended an elementary school named “Terwilliger” should have a career in comedy!

Best Wishes Ms. Silverman-Jones to you and yours. Thank you for all you did to help make Stephen Colbert and crew produce so many great shows. I hope other great writers/ producers (women in particular) follow in your tracks. Be well, be happy, DGG
