Stephen Colbert supports Race for the Cure
ByGreetings, everyone. It’s been pretty quiet in the Colbert universe while Stephen and his crew have — we hope! — relaxed and rechaged their batteries.
But it hasn’t all been resting on laurels out there: in what’s become an annual tradition, Stephen showed up to participate in today’s Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure in New York’s Central Park. From WCBS TV (click here or on the photo):
I love his dedication to these worthy causes, and I’m hoping he managed to win, as predicted. Regardless of his place on the leaderboard, though, I think we can all agree that taking part in this race is an automatic win.
Way to go, Team Colbert!

I’m not sure why, but I found that Stephen chewing gum was so foreign for me. It looked funny. I’m glad that Stephen still takes the time to support the causes he does, even with his super busy schedule.

I had the same comment. Either he just popped it in and its too hard, or it was a really large gum ball ’cause he looked like he had difficulties chewing or just having it in his mouth.

He was chewing gum! I was wondering if he was, I thought I just went insane for a little bit.

I’m pretty sure he’s just God’s gift to Earth. But did anyone else notice that he was kinda ill that the reporter basically stole her way in there while he was trying to talk to one of the ladies in the race?

Yeah, I noticed that too, but I thought it was so nice that Stephen really tried to finish up the conversation with the lady before turning to the reporter:)

Not just any lady – Judge Judy! There were other RftC clips on the site, so I watched Judge Judy’s after Stephen’s – very moving.

Ooops! Judge Judy could send me to jail for not knowing that! Haha. Yes, that was a very moving clip by her. Thanks.

How does he find the time?! I am exhausted just thinking about what his typical schedule entails and then, while on break, taking the time for friends to support such a worthy cause… He is amazing!

Oh, he is so awesome. This just makes him more awesome than he already is. And how sweet that he’s running the race with a friend! Thanks for posting this. :)

I agree totally that his “taking part in this race is an automatic win,” no matter where Stephen finishes. What a wonderful thing to do for others on that very last day of vacation that everyone usually likes to savor before the first day of work begins again – such a good guy.

What type of hat is he wearing there? Looks like a tree in the moonlight.

I believe it is the imprint from South Carolina’s state flag.

- “Where did you place last year?”
– “My number got lost…”
I’m so using that excuse next time.
