Good evening, everyone, and happy Saturday! This report would have been out yesterday, but I was out screaming my lungs out at a concert by indie rock band and Friends of the Show The Decemberists! (Though I didn’t see Colin Meloy or the rest sporting their WristStrong bracelets… moving on.)
Monday, August 10
Starting the week with a gray pinstripe suit, blue patterned tie, white shirt, and barrel cuffs.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Ha! That shoe-microwave had a little toy car glued to the bottom.
- I think we need to send out a search party for Putin’s shirt.
- Is that the Gorton’s Fisherman? That poor intern.
- Stephen is such a flirt!
Tuesday, August 11
Black pinstripe suit, red and gold-patterned tie, off-white shirt, and french cuffs!
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- French cuffs and a red tie? This is my lucky day!
- How did that bike lane get there? That poor biker.
Right before the impact. I’m still wondering how they rigged that airbag under there.
Wednesday, August 12
Black suit, navy/cornflower striped tie, white shirt, barrel cuffs.

- First Stephen gets his hair cut off, and now JOE?!?! When will the madness end?!
Thursday, August 13
Blue suit, canary yellow tie with pattern, ice blue shirt, and barrel cuffs.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- His hair looks really good for some reason.
- CHEATING DEATH! The character breaks are starting up early tonight!
- He totally looks like Lex Luthor.
Well, that’s it for this week! You know, the Colbert Report has had a history of having really great musical guests on the show, from the Decemberists, to Yusuf (Cat Stevens) to the “Playing for Change” folks. Which have been your favorites?

I really loved when Stephen has had The Decemberists on. I also really liked David Byrne this past spring. I liked when he sang along with Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Wilco was a fun guest! Ooh, also, Feist!

Oh, man, those are all really great examples! I have that Wilco performance on my iPod. :) And seeing Stephen in Feist’s blue sequined jumpsuit was a great bonus to having her on the show!! :D

My favorite musical guests tend to be times when Stephen is somehow involved in the performance. Favorites include John Legend, Tony Bennett, Barry Manilow, Feist and Movits! Of course, John Legend is my favorite because Stephen was at his most romantic;)
