Klassic Kolbert: Skinheads from Maine

On the heels of last night’s interview with Rep. Chellie Pingree, I’ve seen a number of tweets, blog posts and other comments expressing excitement over Stephen’s brief focus on Maine. This reminded me that Maine set the scene for an earlier segment starring Stephen Colbert and Dana Carvey (also, that it’s possible to make just about *anything* funny).

Thanks for finding that clip on Daily Motion; Canadians can see neither the CC vids, nor Hulu’s.

It’s interesting that Colbert’s career, for the most part, has been comprised of essentially *subversive* comedy. This bit could sit comfortably next to All in the Family.

I’ve been watching the Dana Carvey Show on Hulu this summer. Not sure how I missed it first time around, but I sure am enjoying it now.

Excellent call, MsI. One of my favorite pre TCR clips and I can’t believe I didn’t think of it last night. I think the yellow slicker threw me off.
