Exclusive Video: Poet Muldoon suplements his income

Comedy Central has posted some exclusive videos of recent guests on ‘The Colbert Report’ website this week. This one features Paul Muldoon who, asked by Stephen how he makes a living as a poet, demonstrates some income generating gigs.
Personally, I would love a Paul Muldoon voice option for my GPS. (Stephen Colbert, Jeremy Northam, and James McAvoy would be great options too.)

Muldoon’s was the funniest, by far. Not sure which made me laugh more: the 911 call, or (from personal creative construction experience!) the Ikea directions.

those are all great! I the inappropriate poetry one was really nice.

that big rectangley candle setup which I’ve seen so many images of, I can’t say I’m a fan. hahaha.

finally, I just started following real_hamburglar on Twitter. that’s normal? even though he doesn’t update.

As I said about the Paul Muldoon video at the Colbert Nation site for the first time. . .
Hurray for Paul Muldoon! I didn’t quite say it like that there, Jennie, but I’ll go on to explain in more detail here.

Paul Muldoon’s present connections (I believe he’s still on staff) with the Bread Loaf School of English, Middlebury College’s graduate program, and Robert Frost’s past connections with the school from approximately 1930 through 1960 give them something definitely in common. Robert Frost could never have brought himself to make a video like this (besides the fact that he is quite stone dead these days). Allowing oneself not to take oneself so seriously is such a precious quality – one of the reasons why the real Stephen Colbert being able to be the other Stephen Colbert is such a delight.

This video is really funny, don’t you think? The rest are good too, but the Muldoon one is my favorite.

Loved the Muldoon video. I also enjoyed the Howard Dean video, mainly because I just saw a Daily Show clip of Jon Stewart making fun of the very speech they’re parodying here. It would have been funnier if he had capped it with the awkward “aaa-ah!” But I love that he can make fun of it now.

I love the Paul Muldoon video! So creative!

Also, is anyone else tickled pink that the green room is actually green? For some reason, I always giggle at that fact.

  7. Yay for poets! :) That was so funny! And the other clips are so much fun to watch as well.
