KLASSIC KOLBERT: Christmas In July!

Stephen Colbert and Willie Nelson on the Colbert Christmas set

Stephen Colbert and Willie Nelson on the Colbert Christmas set

You knew this was coming, Zoners. I just had to feature some of the beautiful singing and dancing from the “Colbert Christmas” special this break. I listen to “Cold, Cold Christmas” all the time, and even though I have the DVD, it’s still on my TiVo. I still love the heck out of this special, and I absolutely adore the music.

So grab your eggnog with lots of nutmeg, your favorite white sweater, and your latkes, and enjoy some wonderful Christmas cheer!

  1. OK, I never really noticed how blue Jon’s eyes were until “Colbert Christmas.” Thanks for this, DB! Our stores are seriously deprived of Comedy Central-related stuff.

Hey thanks for posting these vids again. I can’t believe it is July and you are still listening to Cold Cold Christmas. I guess that shows us how great that song is. I have some of those songs stuck in my head now.

Great post, DB… Well, TCR may not be eligible for the ‘Variety, Musis, or Comedy’ Emmy, but wouldn’t you love to see this nominated?

This just put the biggest smile on my face. =) This is no doubt the greatest Christmas special ever made. Haha. “Another Christmas Song” cracks me up like no other.

Stephen is so pretty. <3 I think I sighed in delight everytime there was a nice close-up of his face. heh.

I watched this while making a poster for my class the other day. I guess I could just say that during that period of time, not much was accomplished poster-wise =P

I still listen to many of these songs periodically. They’re all so fun and pretty easy to sing, so that’s one joy I consistently get out of them. Plus everything about this special is just too damn funny. So quotable in many ways. Watching it made me feel like I was right back in my toasty basement during Christmas time.

Colbert/Legend lightsaber face off FTW! =P

I love the special, it made me feel all happy seeing the songs again. Although a part of me was amused at the fact that I was mouthing the words to each song. Oh, and DB, I still listen to ‘A Cold Cold Christmas’ also.

Being in Canada, I can’t actually watch these embedded clips, but I just had to join in the fun due to my reCaptcha – “civility Christmas”! There is a goal for this year!!! :-)

i watch “a colbert christmas” about every couple of weeks. usually when folding laundry.

i saw john legend in concert last weekend and i kept hoping for “nutmeg.” i even yelled it out at one point. my friends were confused. alas, he didn’t play it. maybe next time.

Sometimes I want to sing that at the grocery store where I work. I think people would be worried about me if I did that. have any of you actually sang that in a grocery store? Cinnamon?
