Klassic Kolbert: Rudy Giuliani

Sometimes you see a news item, and it immediately calls to mind one of Stephen Colbert’s old segments, whether from The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, or somewhere else. That’s how I felt just now when I saw that Rudy Giuliani is considering a run at New York’s Governor’s Office. I was reading the piece, and the incredulous voice in my head kept asking, “Giuliani? Giuliani? Giuliani?!” And the voice asking that question sounded an awful lot like … well, watch the segment if you haven’t figured it out by now.

Haha! Funny, I just recently watched this clip. Was bored at work and was just watching a bunch of random ones. You gotta love the boob grab and “drunk” Stephen lmao. Steve waiting to hear what Jon was saying is really hilarious too.
And I feel ya on the hearing or reading a particular news article and automatically thinking of a certain Stephen-related video. :)

I’ll never tire of watching this clip, too funny. How I miss Steve Carell too. Why hasn’t he appeared on TCR yet? WHY!?!?!?!?!

When I read your “Giuliani? Giuliani? Giuliani?!” I immediately heard “Bertolucci, Bertolucci, Bertolucci!”
But that’s why you’re better at this sort of thing than I am.
Great clip to share, MsI. When I saw Steve Car-ell waiting for the satellite delay I thought of the story Stephen Colbert tells of recommending Carell for the job at TDS, saying he could make anything funny.

Hahahaha! Satellite delays, I love it! :) This past few weeks I was also going sentimental and playing a lot of old TDS and TCR clips. Thanks for this. :)

Yay! As a New Yorker who hadn’t seen this clip (and someone who cries blood when I hear the phrase “Governor Giuliani”) I salute you for bringing it to my attention Ms. I. Drunk Stephen is adorable (and I definitely got a Noblet vibe).
Side Note: I really hope either The Daily Show or the Colbert Report touches on the insanity going on in the NY State Senate the last few weeks. I know it’s local, but TDS did that great Long Island bit the other week, so I have hope.
