WordCamp Dallas 2009 – featuring DB Ferguson, No Fact Zone Webmaster
By
Blogging is going to be light for me this weekend because I’m off learning how to be a better blogger, and teaching a few of my own tricks as well, at WordCamp Dallas 2009!
The ENTIRE EVENT is going to be live streaming, and if you blog, I can promise that you will learn more than you ever though possible by watching the videos.
Tune in Sunday, June 28, 2009, 11:15am CST to hear DB Ferguson (that’s me!) do the presention “The WØRD: Authority – Bringing Credibility To Your Content“. For those of you who are new to the site, you’ll also get a great history lesson about NFZ and how we came to be the best Stephen Colbert fan site on the web. I hope you’ll join me!

This is one of those times when I curse my location and the fact that I have to use dial-up. Without better internet there’s no way I can watch, which I hate hate hate.
Maybe I can try getting an internet USB plugin tomorrow. I really wish I could see this.

Aw man. I won’t be able to watch it when it is streaming. Will it be recorded so that I can watch it later on? I really hate to miss it!

Wait, is that Central Standard time (GMT -6), or Central Daylight time (GMT -5)? I know not everyone switches to Daylight savings, and I don’t want to miss your talk!!

I wish I was able to tune in tomorrow, or that it was rerun four times later in the day.

I won’t be able to watch tomorrow, but I was wondering – did you post your slideshow on here a few days ago, or did I hallucinate that? I thought I remembered seeing that you posted it here, but I couldn’t look at it at the time and meant to go back and view it. Now I can’t find it. Of course, it’s quite possible I mis-read something in skimming through the post headlines.
Have a great time at Camp! I’m so glad we get to benefit from your knowledge and expertise here! :)

Yes you did. I was going to do more shout-outs, but I was so nervous I forgot about them. I think it went well, though.

I don’t blog, but I thought I’d watch just to see how one of my favorite fan blogs works. Fascinating and fun! I really liked hearing your voice, it’s very easy on the ears. Congrats on the presentation and your blog. You must be very proud.

Hey DB. Turns out I was able to catch your presentation this morning. Great job! I think the audience was so engaged by your presentation that they began throwing out questions before the presentation ended:) I loved it when you got distracted by those three pictures of eye candy. Ha!
John Pozadzides, the MC, seemed like a very nice guy who genuinely appreciated your work!

DB, I was able to see the 1st part of your presentation after all – had to leave after Milestone #2 (rats, I was hoping to stay for Stephen’s NFZ shout-out!). I enjoyed hearing about how and why you started NFZ. The way you interspersed the Milestones added a sense of drama. Most of all, it was great to finally hear & see “the great and powerful” DB!
Are you going to be able to post the entire workshop here – once you’ve had a chance to sleep, catch your breath, sleep, …?
The eye candy was soooo tasty – you included two of my favorite photos.

Oh, trust me, I’m not that great and powerful. But it was a lot of fun to talk about Stephen for 30 minutes. :)
