Stephen Colbert makes appearance at Michigan graduation – via Iraq
ByWhat an amazingly heartwarming story! From the Flint News:
Stephen Colbert makes surprise appearance from Iraq to congratulate Goodrich, Michigan, Class of 2009
by David Harris | The Flint Journal
Sunday June 07, 2009, 5:33 PMGOODRICH, Michigan — The lights went out, the screen flickered and on came Lt. Col. David St. Aubin, Goodrich High School’s beloved principal, plus a special guest joining him from Iraq: comedian Stephen Colbert.
St. Aubin was making a surprise appearance on Sunday to the graduating class of 2009 while he is deployed with the military in Iraq.
The 187 graduates gasped, and then broke into a cheer.
It took awhile to get the audio up — and like any high school principal St. Aubin got irritated with the failing technology, a look the graduates recognized and had a good laugh — but his voice could finally be heard.
“Hello, class of 2009,” he said to a raucous applause. “I am so very excited for you on this special day.”
After his speech another special guest came on — Colbert, host of the Comedy Central Show “The Colbert Report.” Colbert, who is in Iraq visiting troops, said “Congratulations, class of 2009″ and gave St. Aubin a high-five.
Here’s a video of Stephen’s appearance, courtesy of CNN (including a sneak peak at Colbert’s hot new buzzcut ‘do).

What make me question myself and makes me giggly at the same time is that he still looks hot.

This story is so sweet.
Also, I didn’t think I would like Stephen’s ‘do that much, but he pulls it off.

Haha, he looks pretty cute with the buzzcut! It’s nice to see him with a new haircut. Although I do hope once it grows back he keeps his regular newsman haircut.

Wow. That buzzcut actually… works on him! I was so upset when I heard he shaved his head, but it’s not too shabby.

It’s only hair! It grows back. And he can totally pull it off! :-) I’ve been browsing the postings here today and don’t have a lot of time to read all the articles and watch all the videos but I just want to say that my heart is happy.
