Zoners! I just wanted to send out a Colbert Report shout-out (*hey*) to remind you all of The Stephen T. Colbert Book Club For The Literary Excellence meeting next week. The club will be similar to the last, so please keep in mind the rules of the club.
As a reminder, here are the books up for discussion.
Selection 1
Wigfield: The Can-Do Town That Just May Not by Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello, and Stephen Colbert (Paperback – $11.16/Amazon)
Wigfield, a town on the brink of devastion, needs help. A run down journalist, Russell Hokes, travels to the town to interview the citizens who create the interesting community. These characters range from the mayor to a lady named Cinnamon. The poor town is completely oblivious to its oblivion, and Hokes sets out to tell their story. Always hilarious, Wigfield captures the essence of small-town America as readers find out what will happen of this little village.
Selection 2
I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence by Amy Sedaris (Paperback – $10.39/Amazon)
Amy Sedaris is a crafty comedian and actress. She uses her famous status to release a book about entertaining and so much more. Crafts, recipes, and decorating ideas fill the pages for young, old, and drug addicts alike. Sedaris includes her favorite family recipes, and recipes of her friends’ families too. Through all the humor, there is plenty to learn from this creative star.
Even though re-runs are never fun, this meeting of the Club should be great. Bring out your creative sides, and embrace your inner satirical selfs! The club will begin next week.
